A Day in the Life

The Technical Services department in Heerlen is responsible for addressing clinical/technical product inquiries for Europe, Middle East and Africa. The Endoscopy Technical Services Specialist position is a home-based position. You will be responsible for providing remote technical support (phone, e-mail) for the Endoscopy business. The endoscopy product portfolio consists of capsule endoscopy products, motility testing, endoscopic ultrasound, and reflux testing products. This position requires max. 10% travel. You will be part of an EMEA team, having :7 direct colleagues supporting the same OU. This team is part of a bigger team (:60 people supporting different Operating Units) which also includes the patient contact center.
We are looking for a technical specialist, who wants to develop towards a real product specialist, and use this knowledge to explain and support customers in using the products. We invite both experienced professionals and recent graduates to apply for this position. For this position, we expect you to be a medical technical professional with a passion for helping our endoscopy customers. You should be customer focused and have excellent communication skills to explain complicated technical issues related to a broad range of endoscopy products to health care professionals and field personnel. Endoscopy product portfolio developments are state-of-the-art. This means that you will give troubleshooting advice related to new technologies (apps, cloud application, communication technology) on top of the medical device itself.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Providing world class technical support to our customers via phone and email; documentation and tracking of incoming requests.
- Serving as a technical liaison between our stakeholders and the operating unit in Israel and the United States
- Provide training to internal and external customers
- Working hours: 7:30AM-4 PM
- Once per :6 weeks, on-call availability between 5-7PM (availability rotates between colleagues)
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in (biomedical/electrical/mechanical/IT) engineering, or health related degree with demonstrated technical skills
- Experience with analysing technical issues and processes for continuous improvement
- Self-starter, demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills and strong customer focus
- You are a distinct standout colleague, who’s able to establish relationships with colleagues in other countries and departments
- Handling several tasks, priorities and projects at once poses no problem for you and you can work well in a high pace environment
Fluency in French and EnglishFluency in any other West-European language and experience in working in a medical technical environment are considered advantages for this role.
