In this position...
Design and implement robust / cost efficient outbound vehicle logistics network servicing domestic and international dealers. Additionally, lead vehicle logistics new model program efforts ensuring facilities and cost for upcoming CE1 programs meet program budget requirements.

Responsibilities
What you'll do...
- Lead new model planning efforts associated with CE1 Vehicle Logistics (MR) – (PA), incl. costs & timing
- Collaborate and work cross functionally with Product Development, VOME, NAVL, Marketing & Sales, MFE, GOTD and Transportation Purchasing
- Engineer CE1 vehicles logistics CPU required to deliver vehicles on time to the dealer network (Globally) while minimizing premium freight
- Dimension CE1 investment required to implement required facilities to support new model programs
- Program manage CE1 Vehicle Logistics facility (hand off pads, plant rail/haul away shipping yards, and off-site rail/haul away shipping yards) changes (new model & current state)
- Engineer CE1 vehicle flows from origin (plant) to final destinations (dealers) achieving the best possible conveyance density on rail & truck which may require cross-functional engagement w/ PD & supply base.
- Flawlessly launch CE1 new model network design (carriers / routes)
- Lead negotiations with Origin Service Providers (OSP) supporting CE1 operations ensuring contracts are in place in-advance of the term expiry and under-budget.
- Lead contract negotiations for all CE1 permanent storage/stagging lots
- Lead CE1 homologation efforts as required, support port launch processes when required
- Work with PD to ensure damage-free vehicle loading assessing vehicle attributes associated with break-over angle, departure angle, and ground clearance ensuring vehicle spacers are not required
- Identify, analyze, develop, and implement annual CE1 cost and transit time efficiencies within the NAVL network
- Support carrier negotiations with intent of optimizing existing outbound vehicle network for cost, quality, speed, and reliability
- Implement a network design capable of achieving customer vehicle deliveries 85%+ on-time leveraging best-in-class telematic solutions
- Perform Vehicle Load Tests for Rail, Convoy, and other modes of transport to ensure quality loading capability
- Develop and implement Best In Class vehicle inspection technology/processes used at CE1 origin & destinations
- Lead the following CE1 vehicle logistics quality & operational tasks to Job#1 plus 90 days (NAVL Handoff)
- Lead day to day oversight of vehicle movement at CE1 Assembly plants to ensure vehicles are shipping to plan
- Work with carriers and 3rd party logistics providers to maintain on time performance targets for Finished Vehicles deliveries
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve daily operational and logistical issues that affect deliveries and logistics performance
- Identify and investigate operational issues impacting the handling of vehicles in the network
- Develop tracking metrics and tools to improve and monitor key KPI's
- Reduce premium freight spend to ensure budget is achieved
- Monitor and reconcile inventory flow and vehicle aging issues
- Engage plant quality/production teams to cut-off repetitive damage coming through the 400-gate
- Lead and establish quality review meetings with various carrier/supplier partners; focus on high hurts based on the data.
- Lead damage prevention efforts & regular inspections, with a significant focus on origin loading and securement processes
- Resolve issues arising related to vehicle delivery problems primarily surround dealer & carrier disputes
Qualifications
You'll have...
- Bachelors Degree
- Functional expertise in finished vehicle logistics, incl. NAVL rail and car haul network and its carrier partners
- Strong understanding of vehicle logistics industry trends and technology advancements
- Extraordinary teamwork and collaborative skills and demonstrated behaviors
- Demonstrated experience managing significant projects and budgets
- Strong project / time management and written / oral communication skills
- Thorough understanding of the new model planning process -
- Demonstrated ability to efficiently query, extract and analyze data
- Ability to interface effectively with global senior leadership
- Above average analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-Starter who can operate independently

- 5+ years of experience in North American vehicle logistics industry
- Proficient in Alteryx and data visualization tools such as Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, or Qlik
