This international role will require the role to be based in one of our primary international locations in the UK, Saudi Arabia, UAE and surrounding GCC.

What’s the opportunity?

The Pursuit Manager is responsible for covering all activities in the pursuit cycle from establishing and coordinating the capture / pursuit strategy through to the bid strategy and bid management of significant bids and presentation coaching across the EMEA region.


In overseeing the entire pursuit cycle for significant opportunities, from developing and coordinating the capture and pursuit strategy to leading bid strategy and management, this role is responsible for identifying key opportunities, aligning internal teams, and ensuring the pursuit approach is tailored to win. In managing the successful pursuit of business aligned bids, the Pursuit Manager is working within the EMEA region as part of the wider Telstra Health team to realise a connected and improved digital health experience for all.


This role will be required to work in our primary international locations in the EMEA region. The international opportunities may require the role to be based in these jurisdictions from time to time or for extended periods of time (up to two years). Occasional travel may be necessary between geographies within the region, as required by customer and market activity.


About the role:

The Pursuit Manager identifies opportunities and leads a multi-functional bid team, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, and oversees the creation of compelling proposals that highlight Telstra Health’s strengths.


Key accountabilities that sit under the Pursuit Manager role include:


Pursuit Strategy and Leadership

  • Facilitate the development of a strategic pursuits plan those focusses on winning profitable business in the EMEA region that aligns to Business strategy and upholds or improves brand position in market.
  • Responsible for the development of win strategies and the end-to-end pursuit management of opportunities that reflect the cultural norms, local sensitivities and local branding of each geography in the EMEA region.
  • Provide leadership to internal and external teams, to create a team culture based on delivery and service excellence


Proposal and Bid Management

  • Lead submittal efforts; coordinate activities and contributions; review proposals and presentations; where necessary facilitate translation and lead translation quality review processes.
  • Supporting the development of bids and proposals in collaboration with the bid team, growth team and other key stakeholders. Establishing and managing processes to ensure compliance with EMEA RFP/Tender requirements and Telstra Health Standards.
  • Establish and maintain the library of relevant certifications and licensing requirements necessary to wins bids, including processes for renewal notification and coordination with relevant business owner to maintain documents are kept up to date.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, product, delivery, consulting, managed service and technical teams to refine strategies and manage deadlines, ensuring a seamless, well-executed bid process.
  • Maintain a centralized bid database, tracking key metrics and facilitating knowledge sharing
  • Provide coaching on presentations and pitches to ensure clear, persuasive communication of value propositions.
  • Accountable for the development of a range of articles/white papers/research papers/investment cases to support growth activities. Maintain library of collateral and evidence database


Opportunity Identification, Qualification and Reporting

  • Oversee and maintain a suite of bid portals, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Assess and work with business leaders and SMEs to qualify potential opportunities based on strategic alignment, win probability, and resource availability.
  • Accountable for organising regular Opportunity Review meetings with Sales Team and General Manager
  • Accountable for high quality and timely Sales reporting. Develop and maintain processes to support reporting requirements including progress reporting that aligns to Telstra Health’s Sales excellence model


Risk Management and Decision Making

  • The Pursuit Manager ensures that potential risks are identified and mitigated during the bidding process, working with the Commercial Business Lead to assess both financial and operational implications.
  • They play a critical role in supporting the ATS decision-making process by following approved guidelines and providing insights into bid competitiveness, profitability, and alignment with Telstra Health’s long-term goals.


About you:

  • Relevant bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Project Management, or a related field or equivalent industry experience
  • 8+ years of experience in bid management, sales support, or business development, ideally within the health industry.
  • Demonstrated success in managing high-value, complex bids and proposals.
  • Proven experience in developing strategies for winning bids and proposals.
  • Strong project management skills to coordinate cross-functional teams and manage multiple bids simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for creating compelling proposals and coordinating with stakeholders.
