Job description

Make is the leading visual platform for anyone to design, build, and automate anything—from tasks and workflows to apps and systems—without the need for coding skills. We are headquartered in the flourishing tech hub of Prague, Czech Republic, and our teams are spread across the USA, UK, Germany, France, Canada, India and Chile, among other locations.

Why do we love building Make (and why you might, too)?

We’re working on building one of the fastest-growing automation platforms and we are looking to hire a passionate professional with a strong interest to shape a career with a focus on Cloud services. Our team is strictly technical, so you won’t be “bothered” by business areas.

The team is focused on cloud technologies and the Kubernetes platform with a passion for automation whenever possible. Enables the Product teams to release new product versions according to their needs. Sharing knowledge and feedback inside the team is at top of our priorities and we welcome others with the same mindset. The aim is to ensure the maximum stability of our infrastructure and thus contribute to the satisfaction of our customers.

What you’ll do:

  • Design, build, and maintain a scalable & resilient infrastructure on AWS (Auto Scaling, Load Balancer, EC2, RDS,  EFS, Route53, VPC, etc.).
  • Follow the Infrastructure as Code principle to keep the changes versioned, plus strive for easy reusability of the services we create & operate.
  • Build and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform, ensuring systems are scalable and secure.
  • Continuously evolve & maintain Kubernetes clusters to enable services to run uninterrupted.
  • Implement, maintain, and consult on the observability and monitoring framework that supports the needs of multiple internal stakeholders.
  • Educate and share your knowledge with others in technologies we use - Kubernetes, Docker, ElasticSearch, RabbitMQ, Postgres, Datadog, and more.
  • Provide input to infrastructure design and planning.
  • Actively test and evolve the reliability of the systems, remove the impediments, and push for the improvements.
  • Cooperate with the Security team on hardening our infrastructure to meet the compliance requirements.
  • Design, deploy, and support automation of continuous deployment (CD) tooling and various rolling-out strategies (i.e. canary, blue/green, etc.).
  • Be on an on-call rotation to respond to incidents that impact make.com availability.
  • Debug production issues across services and levels of the stack.

Our Tech stack:

  • ⚙️ Back-end: Node.js, JS/TS, PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, Redis, Elasticsearch
  • 🖥 Front-end: Angular, JS/TS, Redux, Web Components, Canvas, Nx
  • ☁️ Infra: Amazon AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, ArgoCD
  • 🚚 CI/CD: GitHub, CircleCI
  • 🔎 Monitoring: DataDog, TrackJS

What we expect from you:

  • 2–4 years of experience in managing and operating Linux/Unix-based infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of at least one cloud provider, ideally AWS.
  • Practical experience with a container orchestration platform, preferably Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices and tools such as Terraform or Ansible, with an emphasis on version control.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., ArgoCD, GitLab pipelines, GitHub Actions) and deployment strategies, such as canary deployments.
  • Participation in on-call rotations to promptly address and resolve incidents.
  • Basic understanding of service reliability metrics.
  • Effective communication skills in English, as the team operates internationally.
  • Openness to share knowledge and ensure well-documented processes.
  • Commitment to continuous learning to help shape the long-term vision.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and resolving common issues.
  • Working knowledge of at least one programming or scripting language, such as Python or Go.
