Job Summary

 

The Associate Director Payer National Accounts will support the Director of Market Access efforts to maximize profitable access for Harrow Eye's U.S. portfolio of promoted products, specifically, Vevye. The position is responsible for implementing short and long-term business initiatives established in collaboration with the Director of Market Access to ensure appropriate coverage for internal stakeholders. The position will also help support coverage awareness to ensure the RAM group understands the brand opportunities and placement of Harrow’s product(s) on targeted formularies. These activities will also collaborate with the Sr. Manager Market Access Strategy for overall account value propositions.

The Associate Director of Payer National Accounts will have a target list of assigned accounts where there will be full KPI/objective accountability for assigned account’s access for Vevye and this access will be achieved through value propositions, negotiations, and on label clinical support.

 

 

 

Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Access surveillance of assigned accounts. Oversees formulary intelligence/payer access monitoring and tracks access within each of the pay types and top payers.  Monitors access accuracy in all databases (MMIT, FIA, HIT) and cross references their content with internal assessment.  Provides credible and timely access updates to RAM counterparts.
  • Engages in account portfolio planning using utilization data, IQVIA payer mix sales trends of each brand, and knowledge of therapeutic class management behavior by targeted plans, to determine prioritization of activities that will maximize profitability for Harrow Eye.
    • Utilizes FIA and HIT data from IQVIA to assess overall payer controls and product access potential and utilizes for RAM and Associate Director strategies
  • The Associate Director, National Accounts executes the overall day-to-day management of account targets.
    • Generates business plans for targeted accounts that include clinical and economic elements to gain or maintain product access. Executes on the overall value proposition for Vevye to the assigned accounts.
    • Executes on call cycle for target accounts with KPIs and Objectives.
      • Consistently meeting with payer trade relations teams, pharmacy directors and clinical teams at assigned accounts.
    • Negotiates with targeted payers on costs, overall price, value prop and clinical support.
    • Establishes key meeting objectives.
    • Is measured on overall account access within assigned accounts.
  • Analyzes reports/real time sales data from Pharmacy/Hub/Patient Support Partners.
    • Tracks progress and identifies ongoing issues or opportunities and makes suggestions for opportunities/improvement.
  • Collaborates “proactive” communication to the RAM and Sales Teams with regards to access highlights, payer and pay mix opportunities.
    • Collaborates with RAM Team in the development of their pull through plans.
  • Monitors, reports on, and reinforces pull-through efforts to assure optimization of identified opportunities for the RAM Team.
  • Supports Regional Access Managers to optimize coverage opportunities within established geography.
  • Serves as a Payer subject matter expert to support all functional area partners by collaborating closely with stakeholders to ensure consistent exchange of important payer information and field messaging.
  • Works with Director to oversee all strategic initiatives with contracting partner (Viking).
    • Monitors payer bids and their overall accuracy for profitable access.
    • Conducts break even analyses for bids with assessment of bids versus status quo.
  • Aligns with Sr. Manager, Market Access Strategy, Director Payer Support on patient supports programs.

 

Questions & Requirements

 

  • Bachelor's Degree, MBA preferred
  • 6+ years pharmaceutical, biopharma, medical device, or healthcare industry experience
  • Market access payer experience preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of assigned payer reimbursement process
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience creating and executing a pull-through plan for a pharmaceutical product because of a formulary event (change in coverage, advancement, replaced by another product)
  • Understanding of formulary control mechanisms employed by MCO/PBMs and how they impact patients and physician's utilization
  • Knowledge of US Payer coverage and reimbursement systems (Private and Government at the federal, state, and local levels), regulatory changes, and pharmaceutical channel dynamics
  • Proven history for securing and improving product coverage and reimbursement with or without contracting across commercial and government payers
  • Able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and communicate complex information clearly to others
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and negotiation skills
  • Has a strong business acumen and a compliance mindset
  • Strong collaborator - respectful and accountable
