The Role & the Team

As a Senior Software Engineer, you are responsible for participating in the development 

of product features through all the phases of the software development cycle, working 

alongside one of our Product Manager and more senior engineers.


The Senior Software Engineer participates in all phases of the software development cycle, including analysis, design, development, debugging, testing, and deployments.



Day to Day

  • Utilising experience across multiple technologies to take substantial features from concept to shipping as the sole programmer. or leading a small team of developers, with planning awareness.
  • Work closely with product managers, designers, and other developers to define, design, and ship new features, ensuring alignment with business goals and user needs.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code in Ruby on Rails, and maintain coding standards and guidelines to ensure high-quality products.
  • Coach, mentor and at times, lead junior developers and developers to increase their understanding, impact and capability, including pair programming and code review.
  • Continuously learn and apply new technologies and industry trends to improve the development process and keep the team on the cutting edge of full-stack development.



Our Ideal Candidate

  • Excellent problem solving skills and ability to breakdown business requirements into technical tasks.
  • Experience working on web applications, REST APIs, queues, and other infrastructures around it.
  • Familiarity with OOP and/or imperative design patterns.
  • Experience with Ruby on Rails. Another bonus is if you are familiar with type systems or have experience working with a typed language such as C# or Typescript.
  • Familiarity with modern Javascript UI frameworks such as React or Vue.
  • Experience working with relational databases, able to design an effective storage schema while keeping the access patterns of the data in mind.
  • Comfortable writing tests for the code you write.
  • Excellent communications skills and eager to learn.
  • Proactive and self-motivated.
