Job Description

College of Professional Studies is seeking a Part-time Faculty to develop and instruct the following course:

PSN 400 Biomanufacturing Extension Program, online

The Biomanufacturing Extension Program, online, is an asynchronous, non-credit, comprehensive course providing insights into the entire biopharmaceutical production process so that field-based production workers who have no background in biopharmaceutical manufacturing can immediately begin their career in the bioindustry. Participants will gain a comprehensive view of the biomanufacturing process, including core industry knowledge, testing methods, process flow, and quality control. This course is presented by Syracuse University in partnership with LOTTE BIOLOGICS. The course consists of four modules, each of which is made up of multiple units. These units include video lectures, additional readings, and study questions. The instructor will be assigned to the development of the module(s) most closely related to their area of specialty.

Module 1 – Introduction of Antibodies

Module 2 – Upstream Process (USP) for mAb Production

Module 3 – Downstream Process (DPS) for mAb Production

Module 4 – Analytical Tests

This position is anticipated to be filled on a fully remote basis. Not all geographical areas within the United States are eligible. Candidates must have significant teaching and/or professional experience in this field. Additional qualifications include:

  • Online teaching experience
  • Experience with instructional design preferred
  • The ability to be self-directed with broadly-defined guidelines
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively and efficiently with diverse people in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Interest in learning to use new technological tools to engage students in a virtual classroom environment
