DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES |

We are in search of an experienced and talented Lead Data Quality Analyst to join our Global IT team. In this role you will work in the Data Governance section of our Global Data and Analytics Team within the wider Global IT.

You will report to the Head of Data Governance.

Your core mission is to be a champion of Data Quality Assurance, making recommendations and influencing decisions. In this you will support the quality and consistency of the organization's data assets, through your own work and the coaching of others. You will look for automated solutions, using the most appropriate tools on the market, to rationalise and accelerate data quality assurance in EXN.

You will become an SME for data literacy topics and assist with the development of training material.

You will be a champion of Data Governance best practices. You will collaborate closely with the Master Data Management team, Operational Business Analysts, Data Stewards and IT Data Engineers.

This position is created in the context of an IT transformation, including a move to agile practices.

Responsibilities

  • Assessing and Improving Data Quality: Look for automated solutions, using the most appropriate tools on the market, to rationalise and accelerate data quality assurance in EXN. Performing tests on data to determine quality and integrity. Collaborating with data engineers, master data management team and business users to improve data quality and integrity.
  • Owning the Data Questions: Acting as service desk manager for Level 1 & 2 support for Data Questions coming into the Service Desk. Supporting and coaching others in the running of data queries to locate issues and assess impact of the issues. Acting as the owner of the issue when engaging level 3 support from master data management team or the data engineers to fix issues when needed.
  • Reporting: Presenting data analysis findings in appropriate tools like dashboards.
  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with the master data management team, data engineers and other IT professionals to ensure data meets all stakeholders’ expectations on data quality and integrity. Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Automation and Tooling: Lead on the review and recommendation of tools, to implement automated processes, to streamline data management and to improve efficiency in Data Quality Assurance at EXN.
  • User Support and Training: Lead the provision of support and training in Data Definitions, Business Rules and the importance of data governance, data quality, and data privacy.
  • Data Literacy Promotion: Assist with initiatives to increase data literacy across the organization, helping staff understand the importance of data and how to use it effectively.
  • Continuous Learning: As data governance is an ever-evolving field, you need to learn and stay updated with the latest technologies, methods, and best practices in data governance.
  • Documentation: Lead, through your own work and the coaching of others, in the completion and maintenance of comprehensive documentation of Data Dictionaries, Business Rules Dictionaries and other data user support material using appropriate tools.


Qualifications And Experience

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, Data Analysis, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field AND at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • OR a minimum of 8 years’ experience in a similar role. Technical Skills
  • Data Modelling: Strong understanding of data warehouse models and concepts.
  • Data Queries: Extensive experience writing queries to explore data quality in languages like SQL / Python / Other and or using Data Quality profiling tools is essential.
  • Testing Data Quality: Extensive experience in testing data to meet user acceptance criteria is essential.
  • Assessing Data Quality: Extensive experience assessing data quality and measuring the progress of improvements in data quality, would be a considerable advantage.
  • Dashboards: Experience with building Dashboards in Power BI or similar tool.
  • Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Azure, as well as SQL Server and other database technologies.
  • Data Governance and Security: Knowledge of data governance, data privacy, and security best practices.
  • Agile Methodologies: Proficiency in agile methodologies and tools such as Scrum and Kanban. Business and Management Skills
  • Stakeholder Management: Ability to work with and manage a wide range of stakeholders, including data stewards, data engineers, and business users. Soft Skills
  • Leadership: Able to organise your own and others work. Owning the problem and being the solution. Having a persuasive and visionary style. A patient and effective coach.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and vice versa.
  • Collaboration: Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve data-related issues.


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION |

  • Role based either in Spain (Madrid / Barcelona) or Poland (Krakow / Warsaw).
  • Able to work remotely several days per week with occasional travel as needed.
  • English is a must-have, and an additional (European) language is a plus.
  • Work permit allowing work in Spain or Poland.
