Job description

The Data Quality Analyst is responsible for ensuring the integrity, consistency, and accuracy of data across the organization. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, Business Intelligence, Operations, and Product, to develop and implement data quality standards, metrics, and controls. The Data Quality Analyst will play a critical role in identifying data issues, analyzing data sets, and ensuring that all enterprise data meets the standards necessary for making business-critical decisions.

Successful Data Quality Analyst candidates should exhibit extensive knowledge of data analysis techniques and have experience in a similar role. A top-notch data quality analyst will be someone whose data analysis expertise results in reliable information for the company.  This position can be worked remotely within the U.S. with minimal travel.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Performs tests and comparisons on large data sets to determine and ensure data integrity
  • Runs data queries to identify coding issues and data exceptions and cleans data as needed
  • Gathers data from primary or secondary data sources to identify and interpret trends
  • Evaluates system enhancements and makes recommendations for resolution of identified issues
  • Reports data analysis findings to management to inform business decisions and prioritize information system needs
  • Collaborates with data engineers to improve and standardize data collection and storage processes
  • Assesses system performance and design and its effect on data quality
  • Communicates corrective action to staff and leadership when errors are discovered
  • Defines and maintains data standards, definitions, and models
  • Documents processes and maintains data records
  • Adheres to best practices in data analysis and collection
  • Keeps abreast of developments and trends in data quality analysis
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, information management, or similar
  • At least 5 years of experience in a data analysis role
  • Proficiency in programming languages, including Structured Query Language (SQL)
  • Strong understanding of database management, data warehousing, and ETL processes.  (Azure Data Pipelines, SSIS preferred)
  • In-depth knowledge of statistical methods and tests
  • Experience with programs to organize, format, and calculate data such as Power BI and MS Excel
  • Exceptional analytical skills
  • Advanced problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of best practices in data analysis
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
