A Day in the Life

Field Sales Reps will be deployed to both competitively promote and clinically support the Interventional therapies (Kyphoplasty, Vertebroplasty, Radiofrequency Bone ablation) and execute protection and share gain sales opportunities to grow the business in line with AOP expectations. The role requires strong and proven commercial account and customer management skills. Representative must strive to continuously improve ways of working and achieve the best possible outcomes for the patient, customer, and Medtronic.

This role will cover Region – Leipzig/Berlin and is a remote role. This means your home/remote location is the primary work location. There may however be requirements to attend a Medtronic location for meetings from time to time.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • The field sales rep will spend 60 % on sales activities, including following up and managing Sales lead activities
  • Uncovering customer needs, developing and implementing plans to leverage opportunities. This will be uncovered, progressed, and managed through a deep understanding of implanter priorities, research interests and capacity opportunities, and in line with the Medtronic strategic direction.
  • Tender management activities will be managed by the Field Sales Rep and in collaboration with relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure Medtronic therapies are included and positioned with a strong offering balancing quality and price
  • The field sales rep will consistently input all data in the CRM by creating and updating his Account Plan, manage his Opportunity pipeline, record his customer activities for the Account he/she is responsible for. He will be an Account Plan or Opportunity team member in the Focus Accounts managed by the Accounts managers
  • The field sales rep will be accountable for a high level of forecasting.


Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Proven ability to work effectively with sales management and customers, following sales processes
  • Leverages product benefit insights, product specification, marketing strategy and clinical evidence in interactions with customers within a competitive environment
  • Good knowledge of written and spoken German and English
