Finance Revenue Manager - Netherlands
Please note: Whilst the Netherlands is the preferred location, we are open to applications from other European countries.
Responsibilities:
This fast-paced position involves providing revenue recognition guidance and support to the EMEA Sales, Sales Finance and Legal teams, reviewing the applicable in-scope revenue transactions, and ensuring they are properly accounted for in accordance with ASC606.
Specific Responsibilities include:
- Subject matter expert on ASC 606
- Stay current on new revenue accounting rules and help develop appropriate policies and processes
- Partner with Sales, Sales Finance and Legal to structure deals that reflect the approved business terms. Develop and maintain working relationships across Customer Service, Legal, Sales, Product Line managers and Finance teams to ultimately help achieve company objectives.
- Review draft revenue contracts and guide the business on deal structuring
- Review signed customer arrangements and document any non-standard revenue terms which require separate accounting entries/actions.
- Review all above scope revenue transactions to ensure they are properly accounted for under ASC606 and complete a revenue checklist to document the revenue conclusions.
- Forecast the necessary revenue adjustments to FPA
- Research and prepare technical revenue accounting memos for transactions with significant judgement.
- Ensure the integrity of key processes by understanding systems, flow of transactions, internal controls, etc.
- Recommending process efficiencies where needed
- Provide supporting documentation for the quarterly and annual revenue audits.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 7-10 years of professional experience including high-technology industry experience on revenue recognition. Ideal candidate would have a combination of public company and public accounting experience.
- Revenue recognition (ASC606 and other related guidance) experience is required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA or similar preferred.
- Strong communication skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and comply with tight deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with SAP ERP environment, SAP RAR and Business Objects.
Other Information:
- EMEA (Netherlands preferred but might be open to other European location too)
- No regular travel is expected
