Job description

Position Overview
The Bureau of Justice Assistance seeks an experienced Senior Paralegal Specialist IV for the Public Safety Officers' Benefits (PSOB) Program. This senior-level position requires extensive benefits/claims expertise and supports the processing of critical benefits for public safety officers and their families.

Required Qualifications
Education:
Paralegal Certificate OR
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution (legal emphasis preferred)

Experience:
Six (6) or more years of paralegal experience
At least three years must be specifically in benefits/claims processing
Demonstrated expertise in federal benefits administration preferred

All positions require U.S. citizenship or legal permanent residence and the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance. Candidates must meet DOJ residency requirements, having spent three of the past five years residing in the U.S., working overseas for the federal government, or as a dependent of a federal employee overseas.
