About The Role

Reporting to our CEO you will be pivotal in ensuring Beamery's continuing success by balancing the need for ensuring good legal practices across our business with a high degree of pragmatic commerciality. You will be hands on and be ready to take on a caseload of commercial contracts, data protection matters, and involvement across legal matters across our growing business and support our international employee and customer bases. Working closely with other teams, you will provide comprehensive legal support for all business activities in the commercial, regulatory, corporate, and HR areas.

What you will do at Beamery

🚀 Contribute to our commercial success and to our ambitious growth agenda as an integrated business partner.

🚀 Review and negotiate commercial contracts (on customer and vendor side)

🚀 Manage relationships with external legal advisors, using their time appropriately and creatively to ensure a focus on core skills and work being in-house

🚀 Collaborate across Beamery to assess and monitor company compliance with legislation keeping the company up to date with evolving legislation and good practises (for ex: global AI regulations and data protection regimes)

🚀 Support day-to-day legal operations as an individual contributor including ad hoc issues as they arise.

🚀 Work with key stakeholders in Finance on our corporate secretarial requirements, supporting the CEO in dealing with all matters requiring legal advice and action

Who are we looking for?

🚀 Qualified to practice law in England or the United States with at least 7 years of experience; must have held in-house positions with B2B Enterprise SaaS experience.

🚀 Industry-Specific Expertise: Must have experience with GDPR/ global data protection regulations and selling into highly regulated organisations, such as large banks.

🚀 Tech-Savvy with AI Knowledge: Familiarity with technology and artificial intelligence, and the ability to navigate legal frameworks related to these fields.

🚀 Strong Commercial Legal Experience: Demonstrated expertise in contracts, with evidence of strong negotiation and pragmatic risk management capabilities.

🚀 Independent & Ambiguity-Ready: Comfortable working autonomously and navigating complex or uncertain situations effectively.

🚀 Collaborative Manager: experience managing and developing junior lawyers

🚀 High-Volume Case Work: Ability to manage and deliver a high degree of contract casework independently & efficiently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

🚀 Inclusive Communication: Comfortable working with entry-level colleagues as well as executive and senior management teams, reflecting a non-hierarchical mindset.

🚀 Hybrid Work: 2-3 days a week minimum in our central London office.
