The Ocular Market Development Specialist is responsible for managing a defined sales territory and in-field marketing activity for B+L’s Pharmaceutical brands across the retail setting of Ocular Specialists.  The Ocular Market Development Specialist oversees all in-field promotional responsibilities for Rx brands with a key focus of growing awareness of medical treatment outcomes of Ocular Surface Disease patients inside retail settings (non-physician owned clinics).  The Ocular Market Development Specialist plays a key role in the development, implementation, and execution of promotional strategies through effective cross-functional collaboration with teams including Marketing, Training, Medical Affairs, and Payer Access teams to deliver on quarterly/annual sales goals.

 

Primary Responsibilities

Sales Performance:

  • Utilizing sales tools such as Sales Force, Power BI, monthly sales reports, business plans etc. to identify customers’ needs and develop a plan to execute against those needs
  • Allocation of resources and implementation such as educational budgets, samples, etc 
  • Assist in the development and implementation of business plans and account specific programs designed to meet defined goals
  • Develop and maintain product knowledge and value-added selling skills in accordance with established expectations and standards
  • Meet assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets to achieve revenue and profit goals
  • Develop and implement territory management plans to focus time and attention on high payoff activities
  • Work closely with National Business Director/Marketing to design and implement tactical sales plans in order to execute product-marketing strategy within defined financial parameters
  • Meet reporting requirements including expense reports, mileage reports and sales reports
  • Effective management and utilization of expense budgets as assigned
  • Contributes to a winning culture exemplified by positive, inclusive, and diverse collaboration
  • Face to face field time with direct reports and customers to mentor, develop, and drive sales results
  • Analysis, assessment, and development of district business plan that include customer identification, prioritization, competitive analysis, success requirements, implementation plans, current and future trends, etc
  • Tracks appropriate Lead/Lag measures to set strategy for territory growth
  • Provides feedback to Organization on field needs as well as Competitive market threats/opportunities
  • Continuously improves knowledge of B+L products, competitive products, and management skills through ongoing home study and participation in company sponsored/approved training programs
  • Support all Bausch + Lomb policies and procedures

 

Role Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Business or Marketing or related field is required
  • 3+ years sales experience in competitive market of successfully documented performance is required preferably in Eye Care
  • Computer (Microsoft), Written/Verbal communication, Analytical Skills is required
  • Driving, Valid driver's license to travel to customer locations/or other method of transportation to perform duties (i.e. co-travels, account calls) is required
  • Ability to travel (overnight) up to 50% with occasional weekend conference attendance is required

For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting pay for this role is between $100,000.00 - $125,000.00. The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors.

 

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-term incentives. They may also be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, disability and life insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, a tuition reimbursement program (select degrees), company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
