We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Senior Finance Analyst to join our Finance team in Langley, BC.  
 

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for working closely with various business areas and performing a variety of financial activities including analysis, modelling, forecasting, reporting, and budgeting. You will also Provide internal stakeholders with insights regarding, trends, opportunities for improvement and implications of business decisions.


You will be responsible for:

  • Managing financials for multiple entities/business units.

  • Conducting financial analysis to explain variances, observe trends and uncover opportunities for improvement.

  • Preparing monthly financial reports and commentary for senior management.

  • Reviewing financial analysis and reporting prepared by other team members to ensure it meets established standards of quality and is meaningful to the intended audience.

  • Maintaining a thorough understanding of assigned financial business processes and working with the business to implement action plans to improve their effectiveness – including establishing metrics to measure progress over time.

  • Working with business areas to review financial processes and procedures, ensuring they are consistently followed, making recommendations for improvement and assisting in implementing them. 

  • Explaining the financial implications of business decisions to management, providing financial training to junior team members, and assisting with ad-hoc requests.

  • Preparing financial documentation for strategic initiatives and representing the Finance team on various project teams, as required, to ensure requirements are met.

  • Preparing ad-hoc financial analyses and reports and assisting with special projects.

You have:

  • A CPA/CA/CGA/CMA designation (or working toward completion), or equivalent industry experience.

  • 3+ years of financial accounting experience (accounting, controls, systems), ideally within a retail, pharmacy environment.

  • A strong background in varied financial systems and proven ability to understand complex processes.

  • Previous experience with financial statement reporting and working with budgets.

  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.

  • Previous full-cycle accounting or auditing experience is considered an asset.

This position is based at the Pattison Food Group office in Langley, B.C. While we’re currently operating with a hybrid work-from-home and in-office schedule, we look forward to the day when we are all able to work together in the office again.

Compensation Details:

$81,920.00 - $102,400.00

The compensation offered for this position will take into consideration location, education, skills, experience, and other factors.
