We are looking to hire a Power Systems Engineer for our Integrated Planning line of business, working on supporting and developing new holistic planning concepts across the fours grid planning domains: generation and markets, transmission, distribution and customer services. This position goes beyond engineering; it involves leading transformative advancements and shaping the future of the utility landscape.

 

 

 

How you can make an impact:

  • Technical experience in at least one of the four domains of integrated planning

  • Experience or familiarity with power system impact studies and generator/load interconnection studies in transmission or distribution domains preferred

  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in integrated planning best practices to advance grid planning processes and adoption of innovative solutions

  • Prepare and deliver clear, concise reports and presentations to stakeholders, articulating the technical and economic benefits of integrated planning concepts

  • Take responsibility for the timely completion of projects assigned while meeting all project quality and budget objectives

  • Support business development activities including evaluating client opportunities, responding to requests for proposals, identifying strategic areas of focus, and preparing and conducting presentations

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science or higher in Electrical Engineering with power system emphasis

  • 2 - 3 years of experience as a power systems engineer or master's degree (preferred)

  • Strong verbal communication: Ability to confidently communicate with industry stakeholders and clients

  • Experience performing one or more of the following studies: Production Cost Modeling, Capacity Expansion, Power Flow Studies, Transient Stability Studies, Dynamic Modeling, etc.

  • Capable of autonomously and independently executing on assigned tasks

  • Participate in multifunctional teams to obtain input, address comments and perform studies

  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal, particularly with respect to explaining technical matters

  • Have high standards on producing quality reports and products

  • Strong technical/report writing skills

Location: Location: Applicants will be remote or hybrid US or CA. If in proximity to Austin, TX or Champaign, IL, office space may be available
