Position: Vice President SBA / Commercial Real Estate Underwriter Remote Based

Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a Vice President SBA / Commercial (CRE) Underwriter to join our team. This is a full-time, remote position that offers the opportunity to work from anywhere in the United States. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in underwriting SBA and commercial real estate backed loans, as well as a proven track record of success in the financial services industry.

Key Responsibilities:

- Underwrite SBA and commercial real estate backed loans in accordance with company and SBA policies and procedures

- Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant information to determine credit worthiness of loan applicants

- Prepare detailed credit memos and loan presentations for loan committee review

- Communicate with loan officers, borrowers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and resolve any issues or concerns

- Stay current on industry trends, regulations, and guidelines related to SBA and commercial real estate lending

- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies

- Participate in loan portfolio reviews and risk assessments

- Identify potential risks and make recommendations for mitigating them

- Collaborate with other departments, such as loan servicing and credit administration, to ensure smooth loan processing and servicing

- Represent the company in a professional and knowledgeable manner with clients, regulators, and industry partners

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field

- Minimum of 7 years of experience in SBA and commercial real estate  loan underwriting

- Strong understanding of SBA and commercial real estate lending regulations and guidelines

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and loan underwriting software

- Detail-oriented and able to maintain a high level of accuracy

- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work well under pressure

- Experience working remotely is a plus
