About the Role:
As we continue to grow the JumpCloud internationally, we are hiring a principal engineer for JumpCloud Labs. You’ll have the opportunity to play a key role in the success and development of our engineering teams in addition to growing your own career. We are seeking a senior engineer who is passionate about building great products with forward looking vision.
You will be responsible for building new technology initiatives. You’ll build out features, help drive architecture, define best practices and enable platform quality. We’re operating at startup scale and speed and as a senior engineer, you will work on prototyping and solving the problem in an innovative way.
What you’ll be doing:Researching, prototyping and building Proofs of Concepts for new ideas which JC is looking to invest in.Responsible for evaluating, prototyping and showcasing forward looking technology pieces which are of interest to JumpCloud customers. As an active member of the JC Labs team, partnering with peers and other teams to build, lead, and inspire new initiatives.Provide technical leadership and oversight to other teams in your areas of expertise.We’re looking for:5+ years experience as an engineer and leading the teamsExperience with cloud technologies and managed services(e.g., AWS, GCP, Kubernetes)Hands-on experience working in a distributed systems environmentStrong leadership and collaboration skills to help technically drive and oversee complex projects on multiple teams from conception to completionAbility to work with ambiguity and drive clarity while delivering incremental value through the entire development lifecycle, from conception to hand-off/delivery.Proven ability to thrive in a fast-moving, team-oriented, collaborative environmentStrong technical foundation in software engineering design principlesExperience working with geographically diverse engineering teams in today’s remote first work environment#LI-PD1
Where you’ll be working/Location:
JumpCloud is committed to being Remote First, meaning that you are able to work remotely within the country noted in the Job Description.
You must be located in and authorized to work in the country noted in the job description to be considered for this role.
Please note: There is an expectation that our engineers participate in on-call shifts. You will be expected commit to being ready and able to respond during your assigned shift, so that alerts don't go unaddressed.
Language:
JumpCloud has teams in 15+ countries around the world and conducts our internal business in English. The interview and any additional screening process will take place primarily in English.
