Overview:

Edgewater Federal Solutions is currently seeking a Payroll Administrator (fully remote) to provide support to Edgewater Federal Solutions headquartered in Frederick, MD.  This position can be performed as a fully remote position within the United States of America.  Come join our growing team in providing outstanding payroll processing for 600+ employees.  This is an engaging team that offers great exposure to a dynamic organization.   Edgewater has been named in the Top Workplaces in the Greater Washington Area Small Companies for 2018 and 2024.

Responsibilities:

What will I be responsible for?  Are you passionate about...

  • Process Semi-Monthly & Bi-weekly payrolls accurately, timely and confidentially for approximately 600 employees.
  • Process Off Cycle Checks as needed.
  • Review timesheets for accuracy, DCAA compliance, and proper recording of time.
  • Reviews payroll registers for accurate benefit deductions, tax deductions and any other relevant information.
  • Perform Payroll audits to ensure accuracy of all data in the HRIS system.
  • Research and respond to garnishment notifications and comply with withholding requirements.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and backup documentation to support payroll operations.
  • Ensures that the payroll company has the appropriate tax state withholding accounts open.
  • Ensures that the proper withholding SUI and WC states are open and closed as employees are hired and/or terminated.
  • Process payroll related journal entries.
  • Research and resolve all tax notices from federal, state and local agencies.
  • Complete multiple worksite reporting and respond to various state employment surveys i.e. BLS, OEWS
  • Review and reconcile year-end W-2 information and quarterly 941’s.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline payroll processes and improve efficiency.
  • Respond to employee questions and requests in a courteous and timely manner by both phone and email.
  • Perform and assist with other tasks and duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

What do I need to qualify?

  • Bachelor’s degree in business/finance/accounting or related field is preferred (experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
  • Sound knowledge of payroll regulations and best practices, taxes and reporting requirements for U.S.
  • 3-5 Years of Payroll experience in a multi-state environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite products such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • FPC or CPP Certification is a plus.

Preferred, but not required:

  • Experience with Unanet.
  • Experience with Paylocity.
  • Experience with US Government Contracting Industry.
  • Experience with SCA (Service Contract Award) employees.
  • Knowledgeable in DCAA compliance and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and be self-motivated, be flexible and adaptable, work in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Proactive, results-oriented, intellectually curious, Logical thinking.

Salary: $65,000 - $80,000
