Job overview:
As the UX Owner you will be the driving force behind the user experience of OnBuy. You will be responsible for creating intuitive, engaging, and effective user experiences that meet the needs of our customers and business objectives. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, conducting user research, and implementing design strategies to enhance the overall user journey on our platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- UX Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive UX strategy that aligns with business objectives and user needs. Create user personas, journey maps, and wireframes to guide design decisions.
- User Research: Conduct user research to understand customer needs, behaviours, and pain points. Utilise methods such as surveys, interviews, usability testing, and data analysis to gather insights.
- Design & Prototyping: Lead the design process from concept to completion. Create high-fidelity prototypes, wireframes, and user flows using design tools such as Figma.
- Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure that design solutions are feasible and aligned with technical constraints and business objectives.
- Usability Testing: Plan and conduct usability tests to evaluate the effectiveness of design solutions. Analyse test results and iterate on designs to improve user experience.
- UX Metrics: Define and track key UX metrics to measure the success of design solutions. Use data to inform design decisions and demonstrate the value of UX to stakeholders.
- Advocacy: Champion the importance of user-centered design within OnBuy, always promoting best practices in UX design.
Requirements
Essential
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in UX design, preferably in an e-commerce or online marketplace environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in design and prototyping tools, specifically Figma. Experience with user research tools like UserTesting or similar.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret data and translate it into actionable insights.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present and explain design decisions to stakeholders and team members.
- Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate others
- Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing your UX design work, including examples of user research, wireframes, prototypes, and final designs.
Desirable
- Experience working on internationalised solutions and solving challenges posed by internationalising/localising an existing solution
- Broad knowledge of accessibility best practises and how to apply them
Benefits
The salary on offer for this role is up to £50,000 to £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
