Join our HR Business Partnering team at Macquarie University, initially supporting the Faculty of Science and Engineering on a full-time basis until March 2025.
• Salary Circa $108K - $117k + 17% superannuation
• North Ryde location; Hybrid, 6-month fixed term role
• Higher education industry experience preferred
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced HR Consultant to join our HR Business Partnering team at Macquarie University. It is intended that the position will support the Faculty of Science and Engineering until March 2025, before having the opportunity to provide HR strategic and advisory support to faculties, portfolios and entities as required.
Initially reporting to the Lead HRBP, you will work and collaborate closely to support staff and managers, focusing strongly on workforce planning, case management, culture initiatives and engagement.
Also working closely with the centralised Centres of Expertise (COE), this includes Organisational Development, Remuneration, Employee Relations, WHS and Talent Acquisition in the delivery of specialised services, and with HR Shared Services to ensure timely and efficient execution of HR transactions.
Specifically the role will:
Support the Business Partnering team and specialist HR teams in the development and implementation of HR activities including workforce planning, talent management and succession planning that integrate with functional strategies. Provide timely and consistent coaching, advice, and support to managers including in relation to performance management, organisational development, remuneration, recognition, and reward. Work in partnership with the Employee Relations team and the Lead HRBPs to ensure managers are supported to work through workplace relations issues. Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies and projects aimed at improving HR services, procedures and achieving HR and key strategic and operational priorities.
To be successful in securing this role you will have the below criteria/experience:
Experience in case management and supporting people managers in the execution of complex performance management processes
Experience working with HR frameworks including job design, remuneration, talent and performance management
Ideally have demonstrated experience delivering HR solutions, advice and support in the in the higher education sector
Experience working with specialist HR functions and their contributions to the delivery of functional and strategic HR services
Experience providing HR partnering in a complex high volume organisational environment to facilitate high quality and timely human resource initiatives
A bachelor’s degree in HR or other relevant discipline and/or relevant equivalent experience
Other Specific Requirements
- Criminal record check (national police clearance)
