Job description

As a Technical Program Manager on the Production Engineering team within the Platform Organization, you will play a crucial role in ensuring seamless execution of release schedules and driving engineering initiatives to completion. You will collaborate with internal engineering teams, remove roadblocks, and maintain alignment to meet business and technical goals. This position involves ownership of release planning and management, as well as oversight of additional engineering projects critical to the engineering operations.

Core Responsibilities:

1. Program and Project Leadership

  • Define clear project objectives, scope, deliverables, and success metrics.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Oversee end-to-end delivery, ensuring milestones are achieved within constraints.

2. Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Act as the primary liaison between engineering, product, operations, and leadership teams.
  • Ensure clarity of communication, aligning teams on priorities, dependencies, and key decisions.
  • Facilitate collaboration across teams to address challenges and streamline execution.

3. Technical Expertise

  • Engage in technical discussions to guide architectural decisions and solution designs.
  • Identify and resolve technical bottlenecks, ensuring scalability, reliability, and quality of solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineering to assess trade-offs and drive technical feasibility.

4. Risk Management and Problem Solving

  • Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and issues, implementing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Address roadblocks with data-driven decision-making and innovative solutions.

5. Process Optimization

  • Lead efforts to improve team processes, integrating best practices in Agile, Scrum, and Lean methodologies.
  • Drive automation and workflow enhancements to boost efficiency and reduce delays.

6. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Provide regular, transparent updates to stakeholders at all levels, from engineers to executives.
  • Balance competing priorities, manage expectations, and ensure stakeholder alignment.
Key Skills and Qualifications:

Technical Competence:

  • Strong foundational knowledge in software engineering, systems architecture, or IT infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies, APIs, and enterprise systems.

Project Management Expertise:

  • Proficiency in managing large-scale, multi-phase technical programs.
  • Skilled in Agile, Scrum, and Kanban methodologies, as well as tools like JIRA, Trello, and Confluence.

Leadership and Communication:

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills for leading cross-functional teams.
  • Expertise in facilitating discussions,

Salary Range

$36.34 - $60.58 USD (Hourly)
