Who We’re Looking For:
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Science Infrastructure Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will design, implement, and manage infrastructure solutions that support data engineering and data science workflows on AWS and GitHub. You will be responsible for managing data warehousing and database technologies, automating workflows, ensuring cloud security, and optimizing resource usage. This role requires close collaboration with engineers, data scientists, and DevOps teams to translate their needs into scalable, efficient infrastructure solutions.
Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Design & Implementation: Design and implement infrastructure solutions to support engineering and data science workflows on AWS and GitHub, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
Data Warehousing & Database Management: Manage data warehousing and database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, Databricks), ensuring secure and efficient data storage and access control.
Automation: Automate workflows using GitHub Actions and AWS technologies, streamlining processes for development, testing, and deployment.
Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, data scientists, and DevOps teams to understand requirements and translate them into infrastructure solutions that meet project needs.
Documentation: Create and maintain documentation of data infrastructure, including architecture and workflows, using visualization tools and diagramming software (e.g., UML).
Cloud Security: Implement and manage cloud security tools (e.g., Cloud IAM, AWS IAM) to enforce proper access control and security policies across cloud resources.
Cost Optimization: Monitor cloud resource usage and implement cost optimization strategies using cloud cost management tools to ensure efficient spending.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Data Science Infrastructure Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or in a similar infrastructure-focused role.
Strong expertise in AWS services and cloud infrastructure, with a focus on supporting data science and engineering workflows.
Experience with data warehousing and databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Databricks).
Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions and AWS automation tools for CI/CD pipeline creation and workflow automation.
Familiarity with cloud security tools (e.g., Cloud IAM, AWS IAM) for managing permissions and access control.
Knowledge of data visualization and diagramming tools (e.g., UML, Lucidchart) for documenting infrastructure and workflows.
Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams including engineers, data scientists, and DevOps.
Experience with cloud cost optimization and monitoring tools to manage cloud resource spending.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot infrastructure and automation issues.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
Familiarity with other database technologies and cloud platforms is an advantage.
