Join us at Column Tax! We're making tax filing a simpler, more transparent process for U.S. taxpayers. We’re doing this by partnering with banking & fintech companies to offer powerful embedded tax products to their account holders.

We're backed by world-class investors including Bain Capital Ventures, Felicis Ventures, Core Innovation Capital, South Park Commons & Operator Partners. We were recently named one of TIME Magazine’s Best Inventions of 2024, and one of The World’s Top 250 Fintech Companies by CNBC.

Over the last three years, we’ve built out the foundation for the business, working with dozens of partners to launch embedded tax products. We’ve done that through a mix of founder-led sales & BizOps team members running implementations & managing partners. We’ve now grown beyond that, and we’re looking for our founding account manager!

📈 The next phase of growth

In the last 3 months, we’ve signed partnerships with some of the largest financial institutions in the U.S. Those companies collectively reach tens of millions of Americans, and embedded tax filing has the potential to be a key part of their strategy going forward.

We’re looking to hire a Founding Account Manager to be the thought partner & go-to person they work with on scaling up. We think about Account Management as an “Embedded Product” function. Success is our partners feeling like we are a true extension of their internal team.

What does a Founding Account Manager role look like?
  • Helping the largest financial institutions in the U.S. launch and scale embedded tax filing to their user base

  • Leading the post-sales customer journey end-to-end, from integrations and partner launch to renewals

  • Spending lots of time with fintech companies, financial institutions & tax-focused companies to deeply understand their product strategy & ethos (in an authentic way)

  • Spending time with our Column Tax product team to map our internal roadmap to what partners need to be successful

  • Translating learnings from specific partners into an overall Column Tax launch playbook

  • Shaping the next phase of go-to-market at Column Tax

How do we measure success for the Account Management team at Column Tax?
  • Do partners treat Column team like a part of their internal product team when planning their roadmaps?

  • Are we implementing an incredible “end-to-end” tax filing product experience in our partners apps?

  • Are our partnerships deepening and growing year-over-year?

  • Are we being genuinely helpful for partners that are scaling up embedded tax products (and working with Column Tax)?

  • Do partners rave about working with us?

  • Are our partners consistently delighted & surprised by the work we do for them?

  • Are we one of the best & most responsive teams they’ve ever worked with?

This is what success looks like in practice for our team:

💻 About you:

This role is based in New York City, where the Column Tax business team is. We are looking for someone who is energized about working in-person at least 3 days a week.

We believe that people from a wide-range of backgrounds have the opportunity to be successful in this role.

  • You likely have one, or some combination, of the following:

    • Experience working in Account Management or Solutions Engineering and are looking for a role where you can help shape a GTM organization from an early stage

    • Experience in Sales & Partnerships and are looking for a role where you can work in post-sales

    • Experience in Product and are looking to make the move to more of a customer-facing role at a B2B company

    • Experience in BizOps/Strategy and are looking to make the move into a revenue-focused role

  • You genuinely enjoy both commercial and new partner launch work. You’re a master at listening & discovery. You know when to help partners and when to let them lead.

  • You have worked at an early-stage startup (or you have specific experience launching/growing a new B2B product line at a larger company)

  • You haven’t seen a problem you weren’t excited to solve 😄 

  • You get excited about doing the little things needed to make a partnership successful
