Diploma: Diagnostic Medical SonographyBLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart AssociationEducation and Training:
Graduation from an ultrasound program required. Preference given to sonographer registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or be registry eligible with the intention of becoming registered within a reasonable amount of time.
Knowledge:
Must have good working knowledge of anatomy and physiology as well as principles of physics and knobology. Must know how to operate ultrasound equipment (GE LOGIC E9) as well as position the patient to obtain the optimum diagnostic images. Knowledge is also required of the hospital policies and procedures and the location of the other departments within the hospital.
