Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Data Engineer to join our fast-growing fintech company in Latin America. As a Data Engineer Level 1, you will assist in building and maintaining our data infrastructure, working closely with senior data engineers and data scientists. You will gain hands-on experience in data engineering best practices, tools, and technologies. Key Responsibilities:
Assist in Data Pipeline Development: Support the design and implementation of data pipelines using Python and SQL to ingest and process data from various sources.
Data Warehouse Maintenance: Help in administering our data warehouse (Redshift), including managing data access and monitoring performance.
ETL Support: Assist in implementing and maintaining ETL processes to ensure data consistency and quality.
Data Quality Assurance: Monitor data pipelines under guidance, identify data inconsistencies, and assist in troubleshooting issues.
Collaboration: Work closely with data scientists and analysts to understand data needs and ensure availability of required datasets.
Automation and Scripting: Develop basic scripts to automate routine data tasks and improve efficiency.
Documentation: Document processes, configurations, and workflows to facilitate knowledge sharing and scalability.
Continuous Learning: Proactively seek opportunities to learn new tools and technologies in data engineering.
Requirements:
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience: 1-3 years of experience in data engineering or related fields.
Technical Skills:
Basic proficiency in Python for data manipulation and scripting.
Fundamental understanding of SQL for querying and managing databases.
Exposure to AWS services like Redshift, Lambda is a plus.
Understanding of ETL concepts and basic data processing.
Familiarity with version control systems like Git is a plus.
