At Nortal, we create impactful solutions that drive meaningful change. From digitizing governments and revolutionizing healthcare to enabling agility for large enterprises, our work has improved the lives of over half a billion people worldwide—and we’re just getting started.

We are a global technology consulting company with over 2,300 employees across 26 locations worldwide, delivering transformative digital solutions for leading companies and governments. With over 20 years of experience, we are a trusted digital transformation partner in the public sector, healthcare, and enterprise, combining global expertise with local insights to deliver value at scale and speed.

Our North American team is critical to this growth. We believe our people are our greatest asset—their expertise and passion fuel our ability to achieve ambitious goals. Now, we’re inviting you to join us in shaping the future.

Let’s create the future together!

What’s in it for you?

Join us as a Senior Data Engineer to build and optimize cutting-edge data systems and pipelines, driving innovation and collaboration across teams.

  • Greenfield Opportunity: Be part of an exciting new project where you can build data systems from the ground up, shaping their architecture and strategy with your expertise.

  • Impactful Work: Design scalable, secure pipelines that fuel decision-making.

  • Cutting-Edge Tools: Work with the latest in cloud-native tools, AWS services, and modern data platforms.

  • Collaborative Environment: Thrive in a team that values growth and mentorship.

  • Diverse Challenges: Tackle projects from data lakes to governance frameworks.

Responsibilities:

Architect and Build

Imagine being at the forefront of designing secure and scalable data pipelines that power complex systems. You’ll leverage tools like AWS Glue and AWS Step Functions to automate workflows and create seamless integrations. With Amazon Kinesis, you’ll ensure real-time data streaming, while AWS CDK and AWS CloudFormation will help you automate and maintain scalable, efficient infrastructures.

Optimize Performance

Dive deep into identifying and resolving data bottlenecks, ensuring smooth and error-free data flows across platforms. You’ll use AWS Glue DataBrew to tackle data quality issues and rely on Amazon Athena and AWS CloudWatch to monitor performance and fine-tune your solutions for peak efficiency. With AWS Lambda, you’ll ensure event-driven processes run flawlessly.

Innovate

Lead the charge in adopting cutting-edge technologies to transform data strategies. Harness the power of AWS SageMaker to integrate machine learning into your workflows and explore advanced analytics with Amazon EMR and AWS Kinesis. Your work will drive the organization toward more intelligent and forward-thinking data solutions.

Collaborate

Bring people together—whether it’s clients, product owners, or teammates—to deliver high-quality solutions. With tools like AWS CodeCommit or Git, you’ll ensure smooth collaboration on version-controlled projects. Through AWS API Gateway, you’ll create robust integrations using REST or SOAP services that make connecting systems and data sources a breeze.

Secure Data

Be the guardian of data security, ensuring it’s protected at every stage of its lifecycle. You’ll rely on AWS IAM to manage access, AWS KMS to encrypt sensitive data, and AWS CloudTrail to keep a detailed log of activities for compliance. With AWS S3, you’ll create storage solutions that are both secure and scalable, providing peace of mind for the organization.

Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a proven ability to design, implement, and optimize scalable data pipelines.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL, with a strong grasp of data processing and storage principles.
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems and cloud computing, with hands-on experience in AWS data and analytics services.
  • Expertise in building secure and reliable data solutions, ensuring data quality, consistency, and accessibility.
  • Familiarity with modern data architecture patterns such as Data Lakes and Data Warehouses.
  • A results-driven approach to problem-solving, with a focus on leveraging AWS technologies to deliver high-quality solutions.

Consultative & Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • A customer-centric, growth-oriented mindset.
  • Proven ability to mentor junior engineers and lead by example.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Data modeling
  • Desired experience with Databricks, Fivetran, or Denodo.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools like QuickSight.
  • Desirable knowledge of Sage Maker or Bedrock.
