This position will be responsible for tasks supporting the Revenue Accounting Organization with processes, functional knowledge, and policy knowledge to ensure Genesys revenue accounting is in compliance with ASC 606. The individual will be instrumental in ensuring the accurate reporting of revenue as per Genesys Revenue policy. The Revenue Accounting Manager will provide technical accounting guidance and critical review and documentation of new business practices. Key functions involve identifying business requirements, performing critical accounting analysis, and updating policy in alignment with US GAAP.

 

Key Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities for this role include (but are not limited to).

 

Revenue Accounting:

  • Own, update and publish current Genesys Revenue and Accounting policies in compliance with ASC 606.
  • Evaluate and update policies for all new standards / interpretations and liaise with new product integration team to operationalize accounting.
  • Gain a solid understanding of current and future Revenue Recognition and Accounting reporting requirements, backend systems and current data collected.
  • Ensure that reports and documentation comply with Genesys business practices, operational processes, accounting policies, and US GAAP reporting guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation for all accounting memorandums.
  • Assist and support the reporting related items for month-end and quarter-end.
  • Present reporting requirements to management and make recommendation.
  • Support external audit requests for complex contracts.
  • Train sales, legal, deal desk and revenue accounting team on ASC 606.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of related Revenue Accounting policy experience.
  • Public accounting experience with Big 4.
  • Experience with software clients and/or industry with revenue background.
  • Working knowledge of Software Revenue Recognition Accounting - ASC 606 and Familiarity with ASC 985-605 (formerly SOP 97-2), ASU 2009-13 (formerly EITF 08-1) and ASU 2009-14 (formerly EITF 09-3).
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance and/or Qualified Accountant (ICAI, CCAB, CPA or equivalent).
  • High level of English literacy, both written and oral.
  • Highly organized, with great attention to detail.
  • Confidence and proven record to communicate both orally and written, including the dissemination of technical information.
  • Ability to interact effectively with sales and product teams, functional peer groups and subordinates and to gain cooperation from others, especially those in other departments, as well as with outside auditors and outside legal counsel.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of multiple concurrent and diversified tasks, while working with deadlines.
  • Problem solver: Candidate should be a strong, analytical problem solver with a common sense and practical solutions orientation.

 

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience using Salesforce.com, RevPro, and NetSuite.
  • Prior experience with SaaS company

Compensation:

This role has a market-competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation range listed below. Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location. This role might also be eligible for a commission or performance-based bonus opportunities.  

$94,800.00 - $176,000.00
