Job Description

A Senior Application Developer is responsible for every aspect of the application development lifecycle from planning through operational support. This includes planning, analyzing, designing, developing, testing, deploying, and post deployment support.

Job Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Expert development skills in Visual Studio (C#), MS SQL (T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS).
  • Proficient with X12 data formats and XML.
  • Proficient with ASP.NET Web Forms, WCF, MVC.
  • Proficient with HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Single Page, web API.
  • Intermediate Office 365 suite skills required.
  • Intermediate [DP1] presentation skills required.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Good self-management skills required.
  • Customer friendly and approachable, able to interact and relate to all levels of staff and leadership.
  • Process oriented – adhere to standard work management processes and policies.
  • Able to deal with ambiguity and problem solve unassisted.
  • Must have advanced reasoning and problem-solving abilities.

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or equivalent.
  • Minimum six (6) years programming development experience using designated platform products and tools to design develop and implement business information systems.

Preferred Education/Experience

  • Experience using TFS (or equivalent) for Source Code Control.
  • Experience using TFS (or equivalent) for Work Item Management.
  • Experience using project management processes, software, and tools is a plus.
  • Intermediate understanding of database performance tuning.
  • 2 years of experience working with development team(s) remotely.
  • Experience developing applications or integration process in the Healthcare industry.

Responsibilities

Lead, Supervise and mentor staff. Assist in selecting, hiring, training and motivating staff to achieve day-to-day and long- range operational goals. Coordinate resources required to meet the business units’ objectives. Manage the resolution of problems before they are escalated to Management and determine if escalation is required. Continually review and appraise the progress and performance of staff and advise IT Management in the design of developmental programs tailored to meet their career goals.|Work with the Systems Architect to produce, maintain and enforce Prospect’s architectural models and documentation that represents the current and targeted system architectural landscape and that comply with IT design best practices. Ensure that new and updated application designs meet architectural requirements. Enforce architectural governance by training and requiring developers to present Architectural Reviews, perform peer code and configuration reviews, and update designs and code when out of compliance with Systems Architecture.|Work with IT and Business Project Management to produce, maintain and enforce Prospect’s Project Lifecycle models and documentation that represents SDLC best practices as applied to Prospect’s project landscape. Enforce Prospect’s Project Lifecycle for all projects that involve IT Development by ensuring the presence and completeness of all project artifacts as is defined in Prospect’s Project Lifecycle documentation. Train and require developers to produce and maintain IT Development artifacts as defined in the Prospect’s Project Lifecycle documentation.|Design and developed reusable frameworks based on Prospect Systems Architecture that standardizes front-end look and feel, employs appropriately applied design and integration patterns, includes robust security layers, and is intuitive for new developers to pick up. Support the vision, values and mission of Prospect Medical Group, Inc. Be cooperative and helpful to others within the employee's own department, as well as support positive interdepartmental and programmatic communication and cooperation. Provide positive feedback to other employees, both inside and outside the employee's department.

Qualifications

Minimum six (6) years programming development experience using designated platform products and tools to design, develop and implement business information systems. Minimum three (3) years of Managed Health care background. Exposure to and understanding of utilization of analytical development concepts and methodologies. At least ten plus (10+) years of full stack software development experience. Very proficient in both verbal and written communication. Strong IT development and project leadership skills. Proficient with NET framework and C#. Proven experience with MS SQL Server databases including basic relational database design and writing T-SQL. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Well established computer skills Must be highly motivated, detail oriented and organized Must be able to interface with all levels of management Work in a high-pressure environment. Excellent people skills Ability to work on call as needed Ability to work effectively with little direction.Experience with HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS. Win forms and WPF experience is preferred. SSIS and SSRS experience is a plus. Managed Health Care experience preferred.Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related field
