Kadiak, a Koniag Government Services company, is hiring a highly experienced Senior Active Directory Systems Administrator support our government client in Albuquerque, NM (or remotely from any location within the CONUS). Preference will be given to qualified applicants who are a member of a Federally Recognized Native American Tribe. Position requires U. S. Citizenship.

Position Overview:

The Senior Active Directory Systems Administrator performs independently or as a key multi-functional team member in identifying, planning, developing, deploying, and communicating enterprise technology solutions that can involve multiple physical locations and business units. The position is primarily focused on administering and enhancing an enterprise AD object management application, conducting extensive scripting, and administering a large Active Directory environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities as the Administrative Lead include the following:

  • Conduct senior Enterprise-level application systems administration for the NETIQ DRA application which includes installation in coordination with vendors, application management, alerting, monitoring, maintenance, performance tuning, secure user management, delegation of roles, documentation of system configurations, patching, OS maintenance, back-up/failover, and HA design.
  • Possess extensive enterprise experience with PowerShell scripting and VB Script and familiarity with SQL and Java Script.
  • Conduct senior Enterprise-level Active Directory system administration. This includes Forest/Domain Architecture, AD Service Owner Tasks, DNS infrastructure, account provisioning, configuration of Active Directory sites, enterprise group policies, LDAP-S, PKI/CA, and monitoring of AD replication and core services.
  • Possess comprehensive Enterprise-level Systems Administration experience with Windows Server 2016/2019/2022. This includes daily administration, loading operating systems, updating firmware and BIOS, installing latest patches and anti-virus, proactively monitoring of servers and storage, back-ups/failover, routine maintenance, change management and regular documented reporting of system maintenance.
  • Experience with multi-factor authentication solutions such as Smart Cards, Entrust, Dell Defender, RSA, etc… is preferred. Experience with Identity and Access Management is a plus.
  • Implement and manage day-to-day assigned delivery order projects, either independently or with assigned teams of programmers, trainers, and other information system and management professionals.
  • Identify, organize, direct, coordinate, and report the status of planning and production of all activities associated with assigned delivery order projects.
  • Initiate, implement, and/or oversee routine or as needed administrative and managerial project-related activities, including creating analysis and feedback tools, schedules, work plans, management reporting tools, testing plans, meeting planning and materials, training plans, web site content, and other related tasks.
  • Plan, conduct and direct the analysis of IT problems, and provides technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and recommending IT systems solutions to specific situations to improve the efficiency of internal administrative operations, organizations, or management.
  • Develop and maintain project plans and reporting requirements in accordance with customer direction for all assigned tasks.
  • Analyze, evaluate, and/or provide recommendations for improvement in the efficiency of internal processes, administrative operations, organizations, or management.
  • Perform work that supports a wide range of IT management activities including strategic planning, capital planning and investment control, workforce planning, policy and standards development, resource management, knowledge management, architecture and infrastructure planning and management, and auditing.
  • Assist development of directives and the design, development, documentation, and implementation of various reporting systems.
  • Aid in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.
  • Plan daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • U. S. Citizen with ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
  • Bachelor s degree (BS/BA) from a four-year college or university is preferred and/or minimum of 5 years’ experience with IT systems administration.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience administering a large enterprise Active Directory environment in addition to the skill-sets defined in the job responsibilities above.
  • Desired certifications: ITIL Foundations, MCSE (Windows Server 2016/2019/2022), MCITP, Security+
  • Extensive senior-level knowledge of PowerShell scripting and VB Script are a must. Knowledge of NETIQ DRA administration is preferred.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Windows/Office.
  • Proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Demonstrate a proven record of successful execution in a cross-team collaborative IT environment.
  • Strong documentation, diagramming, and reporting skills.
  • Customer service skills and excellent communication skills (verbal, presentation, and written).
  • Adapt to quickly changing priorities.
  • Positive customer service attitude.

Successful candidate is subject to a background investigation by the government and must be able to meet the requirements to hold a government security clearance.
