Overview:
The Business Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day care, coordination, and service delivery operations for AVP-Banner Health Eye Trauma Care program. This includes scheduling, patient calls, triage; provider relations, and on-call staffing support. This position can be 100% remote, OR it can be on-site.
Responsibilities:
- Manages the day to day operations for Banner Eye Trauma patients within all AVP Brands.
- Ensures coordination of care to achieve patient satisfaction and quality.
- Builds rapport with clinic managers to achieve team cohesion and service alignment.
- Provides monthly informatics report to AVP Senior Leadership Team on partnership performance based upon regular tracking of KPIs.
- Manages calls from Banner medical team during business hours.
- Facilitates calls between AVP on-call provider and Banner medical teams while also managing provider schedules.
- Provides daily oversight to AVP-Banner dedicated phone line to ensure warm transfer and continuity.
- Develops, manages and publishes Banner on-call technician schedules.
- Works with clinic managers to reduce wait times and access to care for Banner patients.
- Schedules all Banner eye care appointments for clinic and surgery.
- Maintains appropriate documentation to/from Banner to ensure quality patient care.
- Obtains and documents all pertinent patient information into system, such as demographics and insurance plan information.
- Verifies patient benefits, obtain prior authorization and eligibility prior to service per payer guidelines.
- Submits in-patient exams and surgeries for billing and coding.
- Coordinates with clinics and patients to ensure co-pays and other patient financial obligations are met.
- Reviews patient charts and documents tests and examination results for completeness and accuracy of information.
- Checks for quality assurance in diagnosis, plan, RTC, etc.
- Communicates AVP provider scheduling changes with on-call technicians and Banner Health Medical Staff Services.
- Conducts monthly team call with Banner on-call technicians.
- Identifies and coordinates training needs for Banner on-call technicians.
- Receives and triages patient, provider and partnership complaints and escalate to the organization’s senior leaders as needed.
- Attend monthly Banner Trauma Eye Care partnership meeting Banner and AVP Senior leadership team.
- Approve and submit timecards for on-call technician hours worked.
- Demonstrates professionalism, shows respect and collaborates effectively with Banner personnel, co-workers, patients and visitors to foster solid working relationships while providing excellent customer service.
- Knows, understands and follows professional, teamwork and customer service expectations.
- Participates in on-going training and continuing education.
- Serve as back up to AVP clinic managers when needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the organization.
- Direct oversight of Southwestern Eye Center after hours triage team to including hiring, coaching for performance and building tech schedules.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- COA Certification required within 1 year of employment
- Minimum of 4 years clinical ophthalmology experience and 2 years ophthalmology management experience required
- Working knowledge of computers.
- Experience with medical office software extremely beneficial.
- Must have good communication skills both oral and written.
- Competency in problem solving and decision-making.
- Knows how to effectively develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders both within and outside organizations
- Strong organizational skills with attention to details.
