Centroid Systems is seeking an experienced VMWare Administrator to join our team. This role is critical in supporting and optimizing our virtualization infrastructure, ensuring smooth operations and integration within diverse IT environments.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in VMWare administration, Windows and Linux systems management, and expertise with tools like vMotion. While experience with VMWare on Azure is preferred, it is not required.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain VMWare infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
- Utilize vMotion to optimize and migrate workloads across servers seamlessly, even across cloud providers.
- Perform administration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of both Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement virtualization solutions.
- Provide ongoing technical support, including performance tuning and capacity planning.
- Monitor and respond to issues, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient resource utilization.
- Maintain documentation and contribute to the development of operational procedures and best practices.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in VMWare administration, with demonstrated expertise in managing enterprise-class environments.
- Familiarity with VMWare deployments in Azure is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong background in Windows and Linux administration, including troubleshooting and configuration.
- Proficiency with vMotion for workload migration and optimization.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred but not required.
