Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in biomedical sciences or related field plus five (5) years of research experience required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Knowledge of scientific approaches and methodologies.

• Expertise with several of the following techniques: cell culture, cardiovascular, renal, and metabolic diseases, omics assays, flow cytometry, Western blot, ELISA assays, histology and IHC, spectrophotometry, and RT-PCR.

• Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures. 

• Ability to design, organize, and coordinate scientific research projects.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute complex research methodologies and procedures.

• Perform experiments under the direction of the PI, using biochemical, molecular biological, and histological techniques. 

• Manage analytical tools, including maintaining equipment.

• Perform/supervise repairs, order supplies, negotiate with vendors, track purchase orders, and update computer hardware and software.

• Manage data entry by staff, and activities surrounding database, data collection, and data entry and data management.

• Maintain laboratory compliance with animal, biological, chemical, and radiation regulations.

• Participate in and assist with the organization of meetings with PIs and research staff to evaluate/interpret the validity of experimental data.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
