About the Job:
Taco Bell is looking for a marketing manager for Southeast Asia markets (Thailand, Malaysia and Philippines). You will be responsible for bringing the regional strategic direction of our retail & brand marketing activities to life in the market, acting as a trusted advisor to franchisees’ partners and executing key local initiatives, such as market tests, when required. The scope includes but is not limited to menu & pricing strategy, media & brand strategies & the development of an omni-channel retail calendar, all designed to achieve the company’s brand, revenue & profit targets for our priority markets (Thailand, Malaysia and Philippines).
Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), this is an individual contributor role who will work closely with Asia marketing team, internal functions (commercial planning, restaurant operations, food innovation team, development, etc.), franchisee partners and their local marketing teams, marketing agencies and international marketing teams.
The Day-to-Day:
Strategy:
- Oversee, guide & support the execution of the regional Asia strategy in a way that provides the best growth potential in Southeast Asia.
- Lead marketing for the market, across brand and retail, in partnership with the franchisee.
- Work cross-functionally with Commercial Planning, Operations, Food Innovation and Development teams to land the annual brand plan.
Brand:
- Lead SEA’s annual strategic planning process & partner with the market in its development & execution of the plan.
- Partner with CMO to bring the global brand positioning to life in your markets.
Retail Strategy:
- Core Menu management: Partner with markets on the menu & pricing strategy that will deliver short & long-term growth for the business.
- Calendar management: Work with markets to develop & execute a tested rolling 12-month marketing promotional calendar to deliver business targets
- Direct and approve retail advertising and sales promotion activities, menu-board design and point of sale merchandising that meet Taco Bell’s objectives & guidelines
- Partner with eCommerce team to provide an omni-channel retail calendar & customer experience.
Franchisee Partnership:
- Act as a primary interface with franchisees on marketing opportunities and challenges, supported by regular cadenced and documented engagement plans
- Coach and guide franchisees on their marketing strategy and execution, all the while upholding a vision of success for their market(s).
- Demonstrate value by sharing US and International best practice/toolkits across marketing disciplines.
- Partner closely with franchise leaders to better understand their business and become a trusted advisor across the markets.
Is This You?
- BA/BS required; MBA preferred.
- 7+ years relevant work experience in marketing; at least 2 years of QSR experience is a must.
- Strong business acumen with ability to connect implications of projects across the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data and develop fact-based recommendations to solve problems.
- Strong knowledge of all facets of marketing from insights through communications.
- Results-driven with bias for action and commitment to excellence; act with a sense of urgency.
- Credible leader with ability to influence outcomes on key initiatives.
- Ability to align cross-functional partners and deliver results both directly and through influence.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to relate to franchise owners and team members of multiple levels.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex issues in a simple manner.
- Preferred: Proficiency in one SEA language, ideally Thai.
