The opportunity

The Pay, Time & Benefits Team focuses on payroll, benefits, and absence management support and provides customer service and advisory support to employees, People & Culture and business partners ensuring end-to-end process completion in line with customer focused principles to ensure the Roche People Practices work for the business.

As a Pay, Time & Benefits Senior Specialist, you support the Polaris Project in driving simplification and harmonization of payroll time & benefits (PTB) processes and practices in EMEA region, participate in the transformation for to-be processes in PTB area, support global/regional alignment on process definition, quality standards and data ownership and the application of global aligned approach of PTB operating model in the region. This is coupled with strong customer focus, communication skills and solution orientation. In this position you will focus on: 

  • Driving standardization, harmonization, and implementing a new vendor solution with PTB Process Leads and Polaris team members.
  • Guiding and supporting in-country PTB colleagues through Polaris implementation activities.
  • Performing a variety of payroll, time and benefits administrative and analytical activities in support of the EMEA countries/affiliates implementation, such as:Data quality checks, Payroll reconciliation/verification. Consolidation of payroll inputs, Absence management, Global mobility process for International Assignees, Documentation for knowledge base build-up related to payroll time & benefits administration. 
  • Serving as the point of contact for payroll vendors and resolving payroll, time, and benefits inquiries within service level agreements.
  • Identifying and troubleshooting issues, analyzing root causes, and implementing resolutions.
  • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to transformation projects in the PTB area.

Who you are

  • 5+ years of experience in Payroll services with end to end process experience, in a shared service center supporting cross countries is required

  • High learning agility on different country practice and able to provide remote support in payroll, time, benefits administration operations with timely manner 

  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical ability

  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot table, v-lookup, etc.)

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and changing environment and to handle multiple competing priorities with flexibility

  • Strong English communication skills both written and spoken are essential (2nd language capability is a plus, i.e. French, Russian, Spanish, Italian, Polish)
