We are seeking a dynamic and experienced District Sales Manager (DSM), lead our Cardiometabolic team (Lisbon and South)

Purpose of the Job Posting:

The purpose of this job posting is to find a qualified individual to fill the role of a DSM to lead our South Cardiometabolic team. This person will report to the business unit. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, the ability to manage a diverse team, and the capability to build relationships with various stakeholders, delivering meaningful customer experiences that drive positive impacts for patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a diverse sales team
  • Foster a collaborative environment, ensuring effective communication and cooperation between sales, marketing, and medical teams.
  • Ensure performance expectations and development goals are clearly understood by all team members, regularly monitors results and goals achievement, participates in SR performance evaluation /Performance Management and Career Planning
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Leads, manages and develops the professional skills of SR /Coaching SR
  • Is responsible for implementation marketing strategy and achievement of business plans, communicates with other functions and provides information about situation on the managed territory
  • Is responsible for efficient allocation of financial and non-financial resources
  • Represents and is expected to behave in alignment with our company values, policies and standards, and ensures understanding of and compliance with Red Book a Good Promotional Practice within the team

General competencies required for occupying the position

  • Ability to live and work in Portugal – mandatory
  • Must live close to the major city within the area of responsibility (Lisbon) - Mandatory
  • Portuguese speaker - mandatory
  • Fluent business- and job-related English (written and spoken)
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Life Sciences, Business, Marketing, Finance), additional education will be highly valued.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of leadership experience in obesity and or diabetes. 
  • Excellent communication skills / coaching skills / problem solving skills
  • Proven record in marketing and promotion and / or people management
  • Ability to travel 30% of the time across the region (driver license).
  • Familiarity and / or experience in marketing processes
  • Strong understanding of the interplay between sales, marketing, and medical functions.
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry economics and drivers
  • Fosters strong cross-functional collaboration, continual improvement, simplicity and focus.

  • Demonstrated leadership and relationship building including multifunctional teamwork skills and the ability to influence senior management
