ABOUT THE JOB (JOB BRIEF)
KeyBank is changing the way existing clients and prospective customers think about their banking partnerships and long term solutions in order to reduce manual processes and leverage best of breed technology to compliment traditional Treasury Management solutions.
Key Bank’s healthcare team focuses on providers (hospitals, large practices, clinics), health insurance companies, and other healthcare-related companies with the specific goal of driving efficiencies in the payment process. As a Healthcare Payment Advisor, your role will be to thoroughly understand the issues confronting your clients or prospects, and recommend solutions based on industry knowledge and Key’s healthcare product set.
By partnering with KeyBank Healthcare Relationship Managers, who currently manage the banking relationships with our clients, you will:
- Serve as the client's trusted advisor for payment solutions to develop, manage and retain profitable client relationships and deliver subject matter expertise to client and prospects.
- Prospect independently, bringing new clients into Key by utilizing consultative and strategic sales skills to reach a new business target.
- Sr. Payments Advisors help develop strategy and contribute to the team’s overall portfolio growth.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Develop a strong understanding of the healthcare industry’s payment process, the regulatory environment and the key drivers impacting both providers and health plans.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with the Relationship Managers at Key to acquire, expand and retain business clients who have treasury management needs. Partner with Relationship Managers in performing strategic dialogs to turn prospects into clients.
- Effectively influence C-Suite level and present transformative business solutions, ROI and value propositions; participate in various aspects of client management, in-person client calling, and relationship reviews for clients.
- Manage portfolio to deepen existing relationships through proactive identification of integrated solutions to unmet client needs. Partner with Relationship Manager's in identifying opportunities for clients and prospects. Learn how to build and maintain strong networks with Centers of Influence (COI's).
- Record accurate, relevant and current status of sales opportunities and activities
- Act with a sense of urgency to respond to client and partner requests.
- Leverage implementation and client management teams, ensuring superior on-boarding and excellent client experience. Accountable for appropriate documentation execution.
- Adhere to all Risk policies and procedures.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree or similar work experience
- 5 years minimum cash management consultative sales or servicing experience with large corporate clients ($250MM+ revenue size),
- Knowledge of FinTech solutions – such as Clearinghouse, Patient Payment Solutions, revenue cycle consulting, etc.
- Knowledge of financial statements
- Basic ability to map payment products and functionality to the working capital cycle and revenue cycle in order to provide consultative solutions to clients
- Entry level of consultative and strategic solution selling skills and deliver products and services by defining needs and consequent solution value proposition
- Basic knowledge and understanding of principles and practices associated with analysis of business operations and understanding of how the healthcare payments process, claims payment, revenue cycle and finance departments work
- Knowledge and understanding of financial concepts, payment processing, commercial banking operations and supply chain management is an advantage
- Ability to grasp complex businesses and understand processes
- Proven track record of over performance in client-facing role; strong communication skills
- Self-motivated and ability to participate effectively in a highly collaborative work team
- Ability to travel frequently, to include overnight stays

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $92,000 to $172,000 annually depending on location and job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.

Key has implemented a role-based Mobile by Design approach to our employee workspaces, dedicating space to those whose roles require specific workspaces, while providing flexible options for roles which are less dependent on assigned workspaces and can be performed effectively in a mobile environment. As a result, this role may be Mobile or Home-based, which means you may work primarily either at a home office or in a Key facility to perform your job duties.
