Position Summary
Position supports all clinical practice sites with a variety of back-end billing duties to include accurate and timely processing of billing charges, complete thorough review and follow up of billing and collections, financial work queues, as well as reconciling delayed billing charges in a fast-paced Physical Therapy Program. Provides assistance related to clinical billing issues as needed utilizing Epic EMR billing and scheduling system. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Verifies accuracy and completeness of daily billing charges, monitors and finalizes outstanding issues held up in financial work queues, while working to obtain maximum reimbursement.
- Performs and assists with back-end duties and charge review to include input, tracking, and verification of accurate and completed therapy billing charge transactions.
- Responsible for follow-up and reconciliation of financial billing and claim work queues to ensure proper elimination of outstanding edits.
- Provides assistance with maintaining and resolving accounts receivable issues related to Epic EMR system communications from Physician Billing Service.
- Responds to questions and requests from insurance companies and other entities as required.
- Reviews and assists in reconciliation of system defined charge reports.
- Supports the review and resolution of financial claim edits created by missing patient information and past due collection accounts.
- Answers billing and collection questions.
- Provides back-up support for Accounts Receivable duties during peak times, vacations/illnesses.
- Other duties as assigned to include, but not limited to, filing, faxing, copying, and correspondence.

Salary Range
$17.34 - $25.40 / Hourly
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University.
