Position Summary
Reporting to the President, this person will be responsible for identifying new sales opportunities, pitching products and services, and maintaining strong relationships with existing customers in order to achieve the Group’s growth and profitability objectives. At a point in the future if the sales team needs to grow, this person will also be responsible for managing the sales team.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for finding and cultivating opportunities for expansion in new markets and with new customers
- Building relationships with existing clients in an attempt to identify new opportunities for revenue generating products and services
- Create, negotiate and close new business agreements
- Develop and implement new sales strategies to ensure revenue and profitability targets are met
- Work within the CRM to track leads, opportunities, contracts and related activities
- Contacting potential clients via email or phone to establish rapport and schedule meetings
- Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives
- Attending conferences, meetings and industry events with the intent of expanding industry knowledge and finding new business prospects
- Demonstrating basic functionality of all products being sold by Group
- Developing quotes, proposals and contracts
- Developing sales goals for the team and ensuring they are met
- Providing direction to account manager(s) in developing strong client relationships and expanding back-to-base sales
- Manage expectations, set realistic goals, and achieve them with internal and external customers
- Conduct and manage the sales cycle process from initial contact through to qualification by actively listening and building trust with prospects and understanding their needs
- Drive for results by maintaining a high volume of daily prospecting through cold calling and market nurturing activities
- Manages time effectively to maximize results
Job Qualifications
- Proven business development manager who is used to working to and achieving targets
- Proven track record in sales, business development and winning new business
- Proven track record of increasing revenue through generation of leads
- In-depth knowledge of the industry and its current events
- Understanding of industry financial metrics and drivers
- The ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and manage multiple conflicting priorities to meet strategic deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to form real connections with people from diverse professional backgrounds – from skilled labor through to CEOs
- The ability to communicate clearly and confidently, both in person and in writing
- Socailly adept
