Job description

Air Liquide Biogas Solutions, employing over 200 people, is dedicated to producing biomethane, with a circular economy approach, for industry and transportation. Leveraging core Air Liquide technologies, the Group has developed competencies throughout the whole biomethane value chain, starting with biogas production from waste, to its purification into biomethane, liquefaction, storage, transportation to distribution. As part of the circular economy approach, Air Liquide also valorizes digestate as fertiliser and produces biogenic CO2.

Biogas Solutions is a key asset to contribute to Air Liquide’s strategic plan, serving the decarbonization needs of its customers as well as its own climate objectives.

With roughly 70 employees, Air Liquide Biogas Solutions UK operates in England and Scotland with the main office in Birmingham.


 

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?


 

We are looking for a dispatcher to coordinate operations with haulier companies and logistics stakeholders about LNG and CNG deliveries. He will ensure that all stations across the UK are continuously supplied with LNG or CNG, in the most optimize and cost-effective way.


 

The role includes 3 main pillars : PLAN, ADJUST, MANAGE.

PLAN means you define the CNG and LNG logistic to source the LNG and dispatch it to the stations, every day. It requires to be well organized and methodical, and also to enjoy analyzing data. 

Each week:
  • coordinate with LNG and CNG supplier to approve the delivery planning

  • book loading slots at the LNG terminal 

  • adjust the plan accordingly, trying to optimize

  • look at logistic KPI (trailer efficiency, £/ mile, £/ tons delivered) to find potential efficiencies

  • up-date consumption forecasts if needed (anticipated new trucks or ramp-up stations)

Each day:
  • monitor the tank level 

  • update LNG delivery notes follow-up

ADJUST means to adapt the logistic plan when facing unexpected events with transportation (trucks issues, etc). It requires a lot of communication with the teams and to enjoy finding solutions

Each day:

  • interacts with transport drivers and their managers

  • Interact with  OCC and UK Front Office  members

  • interact with client if update needed on the delivery 

  • interact with LNG terminal representatives 

  • interact with Ops team if any safety incident are reported  

 

MANAGE is the part regarding analyzing the results and the performance and giving feed-back to the transporters , taking care of the proper invoicing and proposing process improvements: 

  • Logistics KPIs follow-up

  • Transport companies performance according to contract SLA

  • Invoicing

  • Consistency checks

Educational Requirements:

  • a logistic diploma or experience in logistics, or engineer diploma

Technical/Job expertise:

  • Biogas for transport industry knowledge is a plus 

  • Excel  and Google environment very good knowledge
