The Healthy Gamer Foundation is a non-profit founded by Healthy Gamer LLC to expand its impact, and support mental health on a larger scale. The Foundation tackles mental health challenges through broader initiatives like policy and research, as well as direct support for those in need..

Who You Are

The Healthy Gamer Foundation is looking for a General Manager. You are a proven leader committed to innovation and improving healthcare outcomes. We are seeking someone to lead the Healthy Gamer Foundation to advance research and innovative programs that advance the mental health of young people around the world. This leader is a champion of mental health committed to advocating for those in need, an innovator exploring new solutions to real world challenges, a strategic thinker with a proven track record of executing plans with precise execution, a translator of grant-speak, donor-speak, and policy-speak A leader who is experienced in grant financial oversight and operational management, a lifelong learner dedicated to advancing mental health research and funding innovative solutions. You are also a builder who understands that non-profit start-ups must adapt and quickly find their way, a team player who can work with any kind of personality with enthusiasm and energy and a mentor who can grow the next generation of leaders.

What You'll Do

  • Enhance the board of directors with experts that help fill gaps in the board
  • Build a lean, mean fighting team that can effectively create and communicate to deliver impact and collaborate with key Healthy Gamer team leaders to execute on HGF initiatives
  • Build and lead best-in-class research, advocacy, and grant teams that can work against short-term milestones while laying the foundation for long-term impact.
  • Put together an impact-first operating infrastructure that hits compliance, mission, and donor requirements.
  • Drive the operations, effectively planning and executing goals, managing labor and supply budgets, monthly reconciliation, and manage all invoices and P&Ls.
  • Provide monthly revenue and operational reporting to the board of directors detailing financials, risks, opportunities and wins.
  • Drive Healthy Gamer Foundation values and help build culture through regular staff meetings, 1:1s, and team learning/events.
  • Set and enforce expectations for brand standards and company policies through leading by example and delivering regular, direct feedback.
  • Execute a comprehensive grant and research strategy aimed at discovering and supporting cutting-edge innovations in mental health. Forge high-impact partnerships with other organizations and leaders in healthcare policy, mental health research, and the advancement of young people.
  • Execute a fundraising strategy that may include in-person or virtual events that donors and partners are excited to engage in.

Minimum Requirements

  • Direct experience overseeing non-profit organizations, particularly those with a focus on mental health research, advocacy, and policy.
  • 3 Years of Management Experience
  • Masters in Public Health or related field
  • Collaborated with a team that has published research

Preferred Experience

  • Functional leadership experience in policy, marketing, and/or operational teams
  • Experience in healthcare research, policy, or grant-driven organizations, and partnering with academic institutions or research foundations
  • Minimum of 3 years of research experience
    • Crafting methodology with subject matter experts
    • Manage studies
    • Manuscript preparation experience
    • Grant funded projects
  • Experience working with donors and funding partners
  • Experience with international NGO’s on policy or programmatic initiatives
