Job Role: Audit and Accounting Technical Consultant

Location: Homebased 

Salary: Package of £65-£75k and flexible working

Job purpose, tasks and responsibilities:

As an Audit and Accounting Technical Consultant, you will be responsible for:

 

  • Producing high-quality, up-to-date training materials that are technically correct and practical for clients.
  • Presenting agreed topics in formats and locations tailored to client needs and Mercia’s strategic direction.
  • Conducting independent, objective file reviews to evaluate accountancy practices’ compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Writing and technically checking content for compliance and methodology products.
  • Supporting the Product team with technical, client, and competitor insights to guide product decisions.
  • Collaborating with Sales, Marketing, and Client Success teams to enhance client relationships and ensure business growth.

What We’re Looking For

 

  • To be successful in this role, you must have:

     

    • Excellent technical knowledge in audit, accounts, and compliance regulation.
    • Strong research skills to stay current with changing regulations.
    • Exceptional commercial awareness of the UK accounting and auditing profession.
    • Professional qualification to ACA standard or equivalent.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical knowledge clearly.
    • Strong organisational and project management skills.

     

    It would be great if you also have:

     

    • Confidence and competence as a presenter.
    • A proactive, self-starting attitude with the ability to work independently.
