First Connect (FC) is a software platform for insurance agents to enable them to work efficiently and bring the industry into the 21st century.
First Connect’s flagship offering is a powerful comparative rater where FC users – the insurance agents – can enter data once and generate multiple insurance quotes to offer their customers. Future work on this tool will dramatically change the market by leveraging integrations with external data sources to make the agent’s experience smoother. We plan to integrate an ever-growing number of insurance companies through APIs to offer their insurance products.
In this role, you will own this area, making FC’s rater the best in class in terms of user experience, speed, accuracy, and costs. You will rebuild it to design the flows and also own the underlying integrations while incorporating it into our new SaaS offering. Interview our users to understand their needs, then work closely with our engineering, design, and business teams, as well as the carriers themselves, to prioritize, build, and monitor this product suite.

What will you do?You'll cooperate closely with Product Manager and designers to define and implement new features that align with business and user needs. You'll actively engage with the rest of the development team to contribute to technical initiatives, share knowledge and drive improvements across the codebase. You'll write clean, maintainable code adhering to industry best practices, including proper documentation, testing and adherence to coding standards. You'll have a tangible impact on the project direction and the overall business goals. We might be a match if you…Have at least 2 years of hands-on experience with React. Are skilled in modern JavaScript and TypeScript. Have familiarity with Git, Docker, frontend tools and bundlers. Have an ability to engage in discussions and decisions regarding software design and architecture. Show readiness to learn and expand your skillset as required by ongoing projects. Are independent problem solver, but also being an excellent team player. Not be afraid to dive deep into legacy code if necessary. Have a good command of Polish and English (written & spoken). Are available in the afternoons - due to collaboration with the United States, evening meetings may occur. Rest assured, we prioritize work-life fit, respect everyone's private lives, and don’t work at night but we still must ensure that communication between the time zones is effective.
