Position Overview:

We currently have a NEW opportunity for a Financial Compliance Coordinator to join our Asset Sustainability Group (ASG) based remotely in Canada. This individual will report to the Manager of Business Finance in ASG. Supporting the Ameresco Asset Sustainability team with contract compliance by collection, input, analysis, and reporting of project administration data.

Responsibilities:

  • Review, input, and maintain Contracts and Customer records in AssetPlanner® Contract Planning module to ensure all contractual obligations are being satisfied.

  • Review and interpret contracts to identify the distinct types of projects involved to determine appropriate internal project setups, revenue recognition and project budgets.

  • Identify contract key clauses and obligations.

  • Identify contract term, upcoming renewals and notify the appropriate team members.

  • Support project invoicing based on the contract terms. This includes understanding the billing cycle, payment terms, and any specific invoicing instructions from the client. Follow up with clients on account receivables.

  • Assist on project variance, cost and other analysis as requested.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Degree level or equivalent certificate in related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience within a project finance work environment.

  • Experience with data analytics, contract management, and/or project management.

  • Understanding of accounting principles, especially as they relate to project accounting.

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Teams.

  • Experience in Salesforce, Power Query, Power BI and/or Smartsheet as asset.

Additional Requirements:

  • Driven, outcome focused, critical thinker with the ability to analyze, visualize and interpret complex information and situations.

  • Highly organized with a proven ability to compose, scan, collect and upload all relevant contract documents to an electronic document management system.

  • Critical thinker capable of working with high efficiency and accuracy, under time pressures.

  • Self-motivated, disciplined, and effective communication skills to work independently and within teams as a remote worker.

  • Take a collaborative approach while effectively managing relationships with proven experience working in a cross-functional team structure.

  • Canadian or Permanent Resident status required.

  • May be required to pass security clearance investigation.
