Financial Compliance Expert

As part of our ongoing pursuit of excellence, we will be kicking off a significant Transformation Project to introduce S/4HANA, and as such we have created several positions to support this enterprise project (Project Nexus)

Role Purpose:

For Lonza’s transformation project to introduce S/4HANA, we create the new position of Director, Financial Compliance Subject Matter Expert (S/4HANA) to support this enterprise initiative.

The incumbent of this role will act as a link between the project team and the Financial Compliance (FC) function to enable governance, knowledge transfer, alignment and sign-off on decisions. As such the Financial Compliance SME will have the task to ensure that all aspects of the existing financial compliance framework are seamlessly aligned and transitioned to the new S/4HANA environment. He/she will also be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams to assess processes and S/4HANA functionality in order to design, develop, and implement financial controls that minimize financial risks and maximize operational efficiency.

This position offers the opportunity to work on a high-impact ERP transformation project with exposure to cutting-edge SAP technologies. The role is critical to ensuring that the organization leverages S/4HANA to drive business value and operational efficiency.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Assess process design from a financial compliance perspective and leverage S/4HANA functionality to design efficient controls and mitigate risks
  • Ensure implementation of existing control strategies into updated processes
  • Implement and oversee quality assurance processes, including code reviews, testing, and validation.
  • Ensure seamless information flow by regularly communicating project status, issues and risks to relevant stakeholders in Financial Compliance/Corporate Accounting
  • Manage exchange between relevant stakeholders to ensure a common understanding on functional requirements and solutions
  • Assume responsibility for alignment of adaptations/ new solutions for controls with the Financial Compliance expert and support decision making and sign-off
  • Support the integration of controls into the financial compliance GRC solution and in S/4HANA
  • Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets for financial compliance related activities within the S4/HANA implementation
  • Coordinate with project managers and other architects to ensure cohesive execution of the overall project strategy

Key requirements:

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
  • Good understanding of financial processes, financial risk and controls
  • Proficiency in SAP ECC and related SAP modules
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with data visualization tools and techniques is an advantage
