Job description

We are looking for an experienced Pharmaceutical Sales Lead to join our team and take charge of driving sales and market share growth in the pharmaceutical sector. This role involves leading a team of sales representatives, building relationships with key healthcare professionals, and developing strategies to promote the company's pharmaceutical products effectively.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pharmaceutical sales, excellent leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of the healthcare industry.

This position reports to the SVP, Business Development.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Manage Sales Team: Hire and motivate a team of pharmaceutical sales representatives to achieve or exceed sales targets.
  • Sales Strategy Development: Develop and implement strategic sales plans to expand the customer base and increase the market share of pharmaceutical products.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor and analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive activities to identify opportunities for business growth.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with pharmaceutical companies.
  • Product Training and Promotion: Ensure the sales team is trained on product knowledge, market positioning, and effective promotional strategies.
  • Sales Forecasting and Reporting: Prepare accurate sales forecasts, analyze sales performance metrics, and provide regular reports to senior management.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all sales activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards, including those set by regulatory bodies like the FDA or EMA.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, medical affairs, and regulatory teams to ensure alignment and drive product success.

Who You Are:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., life sciences, pharmacy, business). An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in pharmaceutical sales, with at least 2 years in a leadership or team management role.
    • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a highly competitive market.
    • Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, regulatory requirements, and product lifecycle management.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships with healthcare professionals.
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and market trends.
    • Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Personal Attributes:
    • Results-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
    • High degree of professionalism and ethical behavior.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand and walk.
  • The employee is regularly required to lift and/or move materials or equipment up to 25 lbs.

This position will be remote, with the expectation of up to 75% travel.
