Job Description

As a Senior Bookkeeper, you’ll play a crucial role in managing the financial intricacies of a multi-entity wedding and event planning business. You’ll handle complex Intercompany transactions, manage deferred income and prepaid expenses for future events, and ensure accurate financial reporting across multiple corporate entities. This position offers the unique opportunity to apply your expertise in a growing, seasonal business while working remotely. You’ll be instrumental in streamlining financial processes, providing critical insights, and supporting the company’s continued expansion in the exciting world of weddings and events.

Responsibilities
  • Manage bookkeeping for three distinct corporate entities within the wedding and event industry
  • Handle and reconcile complex inter-company transactions
  • Process and accurately categorize deferred income and prepaid expenses for future events
  • Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable processes
  • Prepare comprehensive monthly financial summaries, including detailed reports on prepaid and deferred income
  • Code incoming revenue, ensuring precise categorization
  • Utilize QuickBooks Online for all bookkeeping tasks and financial management
  • Collaborate effectively with internal team members to gather and process financial information
  • Adapt to seasonal fluctuations in workload, managing high transaction volumes during peak periods




Requirements
  • 5+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in the service or event industry
  • Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online
  • Strong grasp of accounting principles, particularly related to deferred income and prepaid expenses
  • Proven experience handling Intercompany transactions and reconciliations
  • Expert-level skills in Microsoft Excel and proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to manage high transaction volumes accurately
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management skills, suited for remote work environments
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to adapt to a growing business environment and implement process improvements
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., Asana) is a plus
  • Flexibility to attend virtual meetings during Mountain Time business hours occasionally
