Job description

Impact
As a Sr. Privacy Compliance Program Manager at Shipt, you will be responsible for the operational management and implementation of the company’s privacy program initiatives. Unlike a Privacy Counsel, who provides legal advice to ensure compliance with data protection laws, the Sr. Privacy Compliance Program Manager focuses on embedding the day-to-day execution of actual privacy considerations into all relevant Shipt programs. This includes, but is not limited to, developing and enforcing privacy policies, conducting risk assessments, managing data subject requests, supporting employee training initiatives on privacy practices, and coordinating with various departments to ensure that privacy is embedded in all business operations.

What You’ll Need to Be Successful
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Certified Information Privacy Professional certification preferred.

  • 6+ years of experience within Privacy, Risk or other related Compliance functions, including specific exposure to privacy regulations.

  • A strong grasp of privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and others

  • Experience in developing and implementing privacy compliance programs, including developing policies, conducting risk assessments, and delivering training.

  • Ability to effectively communicate complex privacy concepts to technical and non-technical audiences, and build strong relationships with cross-functional teams

  • Ability to identify and assess privacy risks, develop mitigation strategies, drive continuous improvement, and design effective controls (e.g. preventive, detective, corrective) within an operational process and ensure alignment with business objectives.

Work Arrangement

Shipt considers candidates located near a Shipt office or workspace in Birmingham, San Francisco, or Minneapolis to be hybrid, which means that they have the flexibility to work from home (with leader approval) or at a Shipt office in order to facilitate the ability to innovate, collaborate, and spark team connections. In-office expectations will vary by role and leader.  Certain roles may require in-office presence on a full-time basis. Please work with your recruiter to learn more about the classification of this role.
