The Learning and Development Specialist - Instructor for Leica Biosystems is responsible for conducting live, instructor-led training, or virtual and remote learning, for our commercial teams primarily within the region specified or in other regions at a global level if the opportunity arises. They will also conduct Gemba visits (in field) with the Associates, acting as a critical field coach and auditor for our commercial sales team.

This position is part of the Global Sales Enablement and Operations Department located in North America and will be fully remote based in Europe or UK areas.  At Leica Biosystems, our vision is to advance cancer diagnostics and improve lives.

You will be a part of the Global Commercial Training Team and report to the Commercial Learning & Development Manager EMEA responsible for instructing new commercial team member onboarding, sustainment, shadowing and coaching, new product introduction and other training demands. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Conduct live, instructor-led training, or virtual and remote learning, for our commercial teams within the region specified, or if requested by leadership, assistance in other regions at global level

  • Focus on delivering quality content and experiences within the given vertical specificity (Core Histology, IHC, Digital Pathology)

  • Liaise with sales and sales leadership to assess training needs and existing training gaps also based on the local business needs — developing an implementation plan with their region manager, and then facilitate learning/training initiatives.

  • Live at Gemba (in field) acting as a critical field coach and auditor for our commercial sales team

  • Contribute to install and maintain the VM/DM for training management, as well as all the KPIs aimed to sustain the learning activities in cooperation with the Regional Learning & Development Manager and team coordinator

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • BS/MSc in Biology or related sciences, and/or certifications within the Anatomical Pathology space if coming from the laboratory

  • Proven experience within the Anatomical Pathology labs and/or commercial markets with a strong foundation of knowledge to share

  • Experience with being a mentor/coach/manager during your career for a new laboratory or commercial team member in the Anatomical Pathology space

  • Exhibits exceptional interpersonal communication skills to foster and strengthen relationships with matrix and business partners to support training initiatives

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to travel – 50%-70%, overnight, within EMEA regions with occasional global travel

  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

  • Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 10Kg

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Deep understanding of subject matter: A strong foundation in the Anatomical Pathology field is essential to ensure instructional material is explained well

  • Hands-on experience: Practical experience with the tools, equipment, or software being instructed

  • Additional language capability (Spanish, German, French, Italian)
