Description

The Learning and Development Specialist (LDS) works in partnership with Regional Vice Presidents, Regional Managers, Certified Mentors and on-site teams to train and develop new hires and rising stars in all areas of the business. The LDS often gets involved in projects/initiatives that require a training strategy that is defined through a series of collaborative meetings. 

 

 

The ideal candidate would come to work each day with a passion for helping people learn and grow.  They are willing to invest in others through interactive training techniques that engage the trainee and create experiences that make people crave more training.  A high degree of patience, encouragement, support, and sometimes repetitive training is needed.  Training should be fun so the ability to connect with people in person and online is essential.   

 

 

The ideal candidate would be able to travel, as needed, to newly acquired properties and to facilitate in-person training. Travel notice typically has a 2-week lead time but could be less. 

 

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide a learning experience that is unparalleled in the student housing & multi-family industry. 
  • Participate in data-driven learning strategy to effectively target learning opportunities for on-site associates.  
  • Monitor Need Help questions and inquiries to respond timely, as needed. 
  • Monitor L&D Helpdesk tickets to respond timely, as needed. 
  • Travel to incoming properties upon transition to perform training for on-site associates and kick off the CORE learning program for all individuals. 
  • Provide direct mentorship to transitioned property’s Managers during their first 30 days of employment. 
  • Facilitate new hire training within the scope of PeakMade CORE program.  This includes a well-rounded curriculum of operations, systems and sales/marketing training over a 60-90 day period. 
  • Lead groups through the PeakMade FastTrack development program that prepares them for next level growth opportunities. 
  • Lead groups through the PeakMade Mentorship Program that prepares them to become certified mentors for their peers.  
  • Develop strong working relationships with Leadership group that cultivate a partnership of working together on strategic learning solutions for individual and property performance issues.   
  • Update virtual learning curriculum and support documents as needed to refresh/improve content. 
  • Assist in identifying/developing new course curriculum for the PeakMade portfolio which includes Student, Multi-family and Canadian properties. 
  • Assist in the administration of Grace Hill Vision Learning Management System (LMS) to include the data manager, course management, compliance, and reporting. 
  • Assist with the mystery shop program to include identifying learning improvement plans as needed based on results from telephone and tour shop performance. 
  • Travel to properties to fulfill training requests and assist in other areas as needed, specifically turnover at the conclusion of the academic year. 
  • Work on a collaborative Operations team that operates a wide array of facets of the business on a day-to-day basis.  
  • Collaborate with all support departments to provide learning support in any necessary projects, regardless of size or responsibility, which can include participating in multiple committees and/or pilots simultaneously. 
  • Maintain accurate, organized, and consistent records in all areas of learning. 
  • Ability to deliver requests and action items in a timely manner. 
  • Assist with annual Peak conference planning and training participation/facilitation of educational sessions as needed. 

Experience & Skills Needed:          

  • Candidate must have a successful track record as a Property Manager. 
  • Strong ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects at once. 
  • Must be proficient in Entrata, Grace Hill, and Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Experience with NetVendor, AvidXchange, Leonardo 247, and EliseAI. 
  • Experience with accrual-based property accounting. 
  • Above average business writing skills. 
  • A high degree of creativity that contributes to changing needs of learning curriculum and style.

  • Must be comfortable speaking in front of groups of any size in a confident, articulate, and engaging way.
